berdly repents for his sins against lesbians and ascends to gayhood
okay so chapter 5 predictions, so actually it opens with berdly and he's sat noelle, kris, and susie down for an intervention, he says :
"guys... I'm so sorry... I've been so misogynistic to you guys, I've repeatedly made you uncomfortable... I've pushed my own sick fantasies onto you all and it was disgusting, and I'm so sorry. I've read my feminist literature. (not in a performative way) (yes he says it in parentheses). I don't want to live like that anymore, be that guy anymore. I am still learning, but I strive to be a better, not only a better person in general, but better to you guys because you deserve better. You deserve platonic love and respect and so much more. I know I will mess up, I will fall back into old patterns, but I hope you all will correct me so I can continue to learn. There's nobody else I'd rather be my closest friends... it makes me scared thinking of my life without you three. I am truly, so so so so so so, sorry. For everything."
He stands up and walk over to Kris, take their hands, and get on his knees
"kris, I'm in love with you. I always have been. I'm so sorry. I don't know all my labels and I'm still unlearning all my internalized problems. but I want you to be my partner. I want you to be my guidance. My teacher. and- and you can always say no. It's your choice. I'll be happy either way. Whether you make me the happiest bird on earth, or if you put yourself first. I don't care. I just cant keep my feelings to myself any longer."
He presses his forehead to Kris' hands for a moment, before pulling away and standing up. Berdly's eyes are still downcast.
The group shares a look. Unsure of what to do.
"Wow. I didn't know you had... whatever that was in you... are you like possessed or something?"
Susie said, unable to keep her composure and devolved into a breathless laugh. She hooks an arm around Noelle's shoulder. Pulling her close. Noelle giggles softly,
"Berdly... that... that means a lot. We uh... actually have something to tell you."
Noelle steals a glance at Susie, an uncontrolable smile breaking across her face.
"Me and Susie are dating. We have been for a while now. We just... didn't tell you because... well... when we tried to breach the topic, you would..."
Noelle trailed off, letting the silence be the answer. Berdly straightens his posture slightly.
"I- I understand. I'm... so happy for you guys. I'm sorry..."
He paused slightly, thinking his words carefully.
"I'm sorry my actions prevented you from sharing this wonderful news."
Berdly says softly, voice wobbling on "wonderful". Is he tearing up?
"I'm so happy. I'm so sorry. I've been so terrible to you all."
Berdly whispers, voice breaking as he covers his face with his wings, small sobs shaking his frame.
Kris clears their throat.
They look towards Susie and Noelle. Both give their version of a reassuring smile. Kris steps forward, stalling for a moment... before making a decision within themselves.
"I... like you too. I would like to try... being... something. I can't promise it'll work out but–"
Berdly whimpered. His hands dropping to his sides as he stands up. Looking at Kris with a pleading expression.
"One chance. I swear on my life I won't waste it."
Kris steps forward, Berdly meets them halfway, both falling into each other's embrace. Kris glances up, looking at Susie, who is turned around pretending to be making out with herself before spinning back around and giving Kris a knowing grin. Kris' eyes flick down to Noelle, who is giving them a double thumbs up. Kris' eyes flutter shut, face buried into Berdly's shoulder and Berdly into theirs.
The screen fades to black.
The scene opens to Berdly's bedroom. Although, it's a lot different from how it usually is. Two pillow forts sit across from each other, Berdly's bed in the corner of the room stripped for resources. The respective couples sit inside their respective forts. The evening sun pours in from the window. They're laughing, drinks and food spread out between the group. Susie and Kris have stuffed animals with matching outfits resting besides them (think the chud shark and chud frog, I think shark Kris (because it reminds them of Susie (teeth)), and frog Susie (because it reminds them of Kris (chill face))). A pile of lightly colored friendship bracelets sit between the two duos. The forgotten discards of an uno game spread across the floor by the door. It's assumed someone threw them, perhaps midgame.
The screen fades out again.
It opens back up to the group sat outside an ice cream parlor. Berdly and Noelle look to be playing some sort of studying game while Susie and Kris run around flinging miscellaneous objects at each other. Susie ducks behind Noelle to hide while Kris uses Berdly as a bird shield to get a couple hits on Susie. They seem to still be waiting for their ice creams.
The Festival is in full swing. Berdly and Kris are sat on a bench together. Leaning into each other and watching the trees sway in the wind. They seem to be having an intimate moment. Susie and Noelle are dancing a few feet away. Susie spins Noelle and dips her, both break out into fit of laugher, continuing to sway in the breeze.
uhhh and then the second part of chapter five they go and they defeat the roaring knight and fix all the plot holes with clever solutions and interesting lore drops. Ralsei gets a magical necklace and can come up to da light world so he can fifth wheel.
