Reading has become such a huge part of my life and I don't always have someone to talk books with so I thought maybe blogging and sharing my reading journey would help fill that void.
So hi, my name is Radley! I love all genres of books and have recently made it my goal to read more nonfiction books this year. I'm in a few book clubs already but honestly I would love to be in a few more lol. I hope to connect with other book lovers like me <3
I do not have words to describe how much I loved this book 🐦⬛
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hollow Kingdom follows a crow named Shit Turd and his beloved hound Dennis as they navigate a post-apocalyptic world. S.T. struggles with embracing his crow side and using his human and crow instincts to solve new problems in this new world he lives in.
This book was so funny while also making good commentary on how humans have impacted the planet. This is one of my favorite things I have read since I’ve started reading again. I definitely recommend this book!
I have yet to start Sunrise on the Reaping because I have some other books I need to finish first but seeing everyone else read it is giving me serious FOMO. This waiting game is slowly killing me I think.
It’s been a long time since a book has made me teary eyed and even with the sadness I am feeling, I’m so glad I read this book. The author handles grief and pain that comes with death in such a delicate manner and shows how even when a tragedy happens, there is some good that can happen as well. I highly recommend “After Life” to anyone that is struggling with the loss of a loved one or even those who have found peace after their loss. This book is a reminder that love never truly goes away.
I love reading autobiographies and memoirs because how else would I learn about important historical events like Shirley Temple hitting Eleanor Roosevelt with her slingshot?
I’m going to level with you. I wanted an excuse to read a bunch of Frankenstein/Mary Shelley themed books. Normally I try to read a few Frankenbooks in October but, honestly, the month just doesn’t really work for me. So I’m moving it up to April since it’s my birth month and also I get a couple weeks off work for the mid-semester break. And I decided why not make this an official readathon.
But the Frankenstein of it all is not mandatory – if you wanna use this as an excuse to read a bunch of books off your TBR, get through a stack from the library, or work on some other reading goal you’ve got, then join me!

TIME: April 1-30, beginning at midnight in your time zone,
POST: I’d love to see what you’re reading throughout the month so tag your posts with ‘readingoals readathon’. I’ll be tracking the tag and reblogging things all month!
PROMPTS: I’ve created a mini bingo board for anyone who would like a little direction or just enjoys that sort of thing – it comes in both a Frankenstein version and a more general style, but the prompts are the same in both! Feel free to double up on prompts or ignore them entirely! Check under the cut for more details on what each prompt means.
Prompts
Creature On The Cover – For those picking up Frankenbooks this could be whatever The Creature in the story is, but it could also refer to an animal, monster or mythological creature.
Female Author – Pretty self explanatory. Frankenstein was written by a woman, so read something by a female identifying author.
Poll Pick – Survey some other people to see what you should read next! This could be a poll on tumblr, instagram, or discord, or create a survey for your friends irl! Polls can have as many or as few options as you like.
Borrowed – Check out something from the library, ask a friend to lend you something, or “borrow” someone else’s idea and pick a book from their tbr.
New To You Author – A book by someone you’ve never read from before.
Green on The Cover – The whole thing can be shades of green or it can be in a small section of the cover.
Set in Another country – As long as the book primarily takes place in a country you currently do not live in, you’re good.
Not Your Usual – Up to interpretation a little bit. You might decide to try a genre you don’t pick up often or a trope you usually ignore. If you typically read physical books you might give an audiobook a go, or if you tend to read adult books you might try a middlegrade or YA. It’s up to you how you choose to tackle this prompt!
Published in 2020s – There's been some really great Frankenstein inspired books published within the last 5 years so this prompt was an excuse for me to pick up more. For those of you not reading Frankenbooks, consider this an excuse to pick up that new release you’ve been eyeing off.
Every day I tell myself I'm going to pick up my Kindle and read a book from there, but then I find myself with a physical book in my hand. Maybe I'm not meant to be a kindle person...
My last 5 books have been all nonfiction and I have a confession to make... I LOVE LEARNING! When I made my reading goal this year to include more nonfiction reading, I didn't expect to fall in love with it. Honestly, I thought I would struggle, but here I am combing the library walls for new things to read and learn. So far I've learned about space, Harry Houdini, Iranian Revolution, scary Christmas lore from around the world, and Matthew McConaughy (yes, I know, a bit all over the place lol). I'm curious to see what I pick up next!
