To be standing in line for the first time, and seeing a bunch of geeks just like me who were hyped for Tears just as much as I was made me super emotional on the ride home. There were so many people tonight, and some even sitting in corners just talking away. Todays a big day, and midnight was such an awesome event!!

Mammon was aware enough that he had started his relationship with you in a very morally wrong manner by human standards and maybe a little bit not good by the new demon standards but from the moment you had began flirting with him and blatantly favoring him, he thought that nothing really happened against your will. He just happened to cook you like a frog in a tepid water.

Of course he was prepared to eliminate everything and anything that would take you away from him. He was even anticipating it, after all nothing comes easy to him, not when it has to do with something his heart really desires. He wasn’t the perfect demon, too kind by their standards, and neither was he the perfect angel, too cheeky by Heaven’s standards. But then you came into his life and suddenly he was just perfect to you, for you, he wasn’t too much or less. Just enough. 

And it wasn’t a surprise that he fell and fell and fell for you, in your gently embrace and warm smiles, tender touches that always gave him comfort, soothing the aching pieces of his cracked and twisted heart. He wanted to give you everything, all the glitter and the gold, lay it at your feet, on the altar of your love and be rewarded by the grace of your affections. 

Oh, how sweet it was! Your lips colliding with his and becoming one, and Mammon knew that this was his own Heaven, his own Utopia. He kissed you and wept at the warmth of your love and how he wanted to repent if it meant that he’d get to keep you forever in his arms. But see, that isn’t the way for demons, and Mammon was one of the Seven Rulers of Hell.

Repentance wasn’t on the table. So instead he’d just find away to keep you by his side, he was prepared to be consumed by his greed and end up tarnishing the love you had built with him. So prepared to do the most vile things just to keep you on his side.

But you were just full of surprises.

You had come home one day, bringing with you the child he was raising secretly through the witches, “Darling~ Come meet our eldest daughter!” 

Your smile was so sweet and so inviting, and the sickly little girl he was raising completed a picture of a perfect family he only ever dared to dream in fleeting moments.

‘I was really blind.’ Mammon thought as he saw the madness in his eyes mirrored in yours.

The scent of magical blood that stained the hems of your dress and your fingertips. He could only smile and follow your lead, spoiling you with his overflowing affections.

“C’mon sweetheart, greet your Papa Mammon~” You encourage your newly adopted daughter who, though shyly, happily greeted her Papa Mammon and both of you were rewarded with his beaming smile.

And you hoped that he wouldn’t notice, that he would not pay attention to the small scent of copper that clings on the underside of your nails that was pulling his face closer for a small sweet kiss. You prayed that he would not question how you were able to acquire your precious daughter.

“Why don’t we show our daughter her new room?” Mammon had suggested and his free hand that wasn’t carrying your daughter, rested on your hips and you feel the warmth of it seep through your clothes and you are filled with so much want.

But you held it in. It wouldn’t do to drop all pretenses right now, not when you had done the most vile things to ensure that Mammon would fall for you, would enter into a relationship with you by his own volition. Yes, you had slowly cooked him in the tepid water of your affections, slowly and gently heating up the waters until he could no longer get himself out of the sweet trap of your love.

You didn’t mind dealing a few favors, owning a few debts, and staining your hands. Not when Mammon would cling to you everyday, demanding your attention that never even really left him. You indulged him and indulged in him, most nights spent in his naked embrace, mapping the slopes of his body, and familiarizing yourself with the taste of his ecstasy. You would drown him in your praises, worship him the way a devout follower of Christ would. You let him weep in your arms and gave him his absolution, redeeming him with your love as you sunk in the depths of your gentle sin by loving him.

You didn’t mind the few deaths he caused just to keep you, didn’t mind the way he would sometimes refuse to let you spend time with others. Because you knew the truth, saw it in the way Lucifer looked at you disapprovingly whenever you’d indulge Mammon in his dark affections.

Because in the end, Mammon had laid himself before the pedestal he had put you on. Offered himself on the altar of your twisted love and let himself be devoured by you. Because demons didn’t love the way humans do.

And you weren’t human, no matter the skin you wore, because in the end you had always been something else. Something different and you had found your love among monsters and eldritch horrors, found it in Mammon who wore human skin and yet more human than you.

You smiled at him and as you looked into his eyes, filled with madness and understanding, you knew now that he understood you. Lucifer wouldn’t have to worry about anything anymore, not when you had given Mammon the beginning of the family he wanted.
