Possible causes / risk factors: Sexual dissatisfaction in life, sexual trauma, relationship trauma.

Note: You do not have to be a dom and/or a top to have SSDD. You can prefer any side or be any sexuality, as long as you seek to devalue other's sexual worth and reinforce your own.

It's not about dominance per se, but moreso about one's sexual worth. An alternative term for this MUD may be Sexual Worth Obsession Disorder (SWOD) if you wish to use that instead of SSDD.
