So a year and a half ago I went on a study abroad program to Cuba. About three weeks into the trip we (a group of about 15 uni students) had all gotten used to having to take full advantage of internet connection on the rare times we would have it, cause Cuban wifi is only in certain locations and is spotty even then. One evening we were all sitting in our hotel lobby and an American seniors tour group had just come in and sat down amongst us. A woman sitting not 5 feet away from me made a loud, snide comment about how we were in a foreign country "and still couldn't put our phones away" and "what a shame" it was. It was all I could do to not make some snarky comment right back that we were all either researching for our final presentations or, like in my case, trying to send my parents an email after not being able to contact them for several days so they knew I was okay. It was the perfect example of a snap judgement and it drove me crazy.
