If it keeps you from killing yourself it's not stupid. This applies to anything btw.

pick a tiny bird friend!
All these industries with shortages of workers and they canât figure out why.
Im proposing the hypothesis that the reason we donât have enough doctors/pilots/bus drivers/etc is that maybe, just maybe, having your entire industry function as a lifelong hazing ritual isnât the best recruiting strategy.
Doctors are subject to 8 years of post-secondary education and are forced to work 48 hour shifts.
Pilots and other transportation workers have absurd hours of service requirements that start your rest period as âthe moment you shut the vehicle downâ and can be as short as 9 hours in some cases.
Railroad workers have to be available on-call 6 days a week and be ready within two hours notice. They donât get sick time.
Retail workers have to keep a veneer of politeness against any and all abuse or they can be fired.
Truck drivers get paid by mileage and rarely see pay for shipper or receiver delays.
Work should not be designed to make you a miserable burnout and yet here we are.
Ruthye, throughout the entirety of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow:
oh so when john wick goes on a revenge killing spree to avenge his murdered dog, heâs an awesome action hero. but when kara zor el beats up and kills the child sex trafficker who poisoned her dog, sheâs the worst most selfish awful mean person
There seem to be a lot of people who donât understand why Lobo was in the movie, so Iâm just gonna say it: Lobo is who Kara is at risk of becoming.
Kara is at a crossroads, and one road leads towards Clark and one leads to Lobo. Or rather, one path leads to embracing the responsibility of the life and powers her parents gave her, and the other is continuing to drink her life away, not caring about anything or anyone but her and hers.
Lobo is immensely powerful, and the last of his planet. Just like Kara. And when we meet him, heâs passed out drunk in a bar, oblivious and uncaring of violence and exploitation around him. Just like Kara was trying to be when she first met Ruthye.
Lobo is Karaâs future if she gives up on trying to be good. Drunkenly stumbling through the galaxy not helping anyone or anything and only caring about herself. Maybe not mindlessly cruel, but not kind or good or caring of the pain of the people around her.
Itâs why they both get Ruthyeâs spiel, itâs why Loboâs whole introduction mirrors what Kara was just doing demanding to know about the Brigands, itâs why theyâre both âthe ditz from the barâ, itâs why they both have the gag with the space suit collar.
Itâs why Lobo crops up each time Ruthye and Kara are faced with choices, sometimes acting as a devil on their shoulders, sometimes just a big lurking ominous warning of their bleak future if they make the wrong choices. Itâs why Lobo says âlet Ruthye have her revengeâ, uncaring of how the violence might haunt Ruthye for the rest of her life. Heâs a big constant reminder why Kara cannot let this thirteen year old girl be consumed by violence, and of who her parents didnât want her to be.
Lobo is Karaâs foil and shadow.
I donât think the movie always executed this well, it could have been done better, but I donât think it was subtle either. The parallels between Kara and Lobo are right there in every scene and always highlight the choices Kara makes to be kind, and I do wish people would take the time to actually think about them before writing Loboâs presence off.
Iâm gonna need you all to get more obsessed with Supergirl 2026. Itâs literally every single sarcastic, messy, depressed, grieving, male lead from recent media that accidentally adopts an angry, young girl (also grieving) which forces him to confront his self destructive behavior and realize the impact he can still make. But sheâs a girl. This is the character you all love in every piece of media. Iâm begging you all to adore her the same way.
Me when Supergirl convinces the 13 year old not to kill the irredeemable villain because it would retraumatize her: yeah ok fair enough :/
Me when Supergirl kills the irredeemable villain herself the second Ruthyeâs back is turned, thus ending the cycle of abuse without involving the terrified grieving child: YEAH OK FAIR ENOUGH :D
sorry to be brave on the internet but I think food labels should list every single ingredient and that there should be harsher penalties for mislabeling and deceptive labeling

Yeah, that's exactly what the complaint was about.
it really pisses me off when adults sit there and drill it into kidsâ heads that their youth is fleeting and tell them things like âenjoy your childhood while it lasts because this is the best itâs gonna getâ. why are you telling children that adulthood is the worst thing they can experience? seriously what the fuck is wrong with you, why are you trying to make them feel like growing up is a fate worse than death? trying to convince them their life is over before it even begins? iâm tired of that shit. because tell my why my 12 year old cousin told me when she turns 30 sheâll be so depressed sheâs just gonna cry all the time. what the fuck. kids donât need to hear that their already stressful and overwhelming lives are never going to get better, that the abuse and lack of autonomy they face is apparently the highlight of their lives. they need to hear about adults who are happy to be alive and happy to have made it to their age. they need to know that growing up rules, itâs a gift and life does not have to suck for them, that they have a future thatâs worth sticking around for. this rhetoric is so damaging mentally and iâm about to start hitting the adults who parrot it. iâm sorry you hate your life but you donât get to dump your issues on these kids. donât piss me off and leave these babies alone!
People on Tumblr love sharing information about themselves no matter how asinine it is. And I'm the same way. Everybody tell me what the last thing you drank was.
Ok like. Imagine life without ads. You wake up, check your messages across a variety of apps, no ads. You get up and put on the tv while you prep your breakfast, no ads. Maybe you drive somewhere and switch on the radio, no ads. Maybe you drive a long distance, yet somehow, not a single billboard on your path. You pick up a newspaper or magazine to pass the time, no advertisements only articles. You turn on your game console, the home screen is just about your games, no ads to buy more. You open a streaming app, you don't pay extra for no ads, there's just no ads ever.
Think about how much of your time is spent looking at ads. "Download ublock" yeah I know, I have. But that doesn't change that the world is covered with endless advertising. Imagine never seeing that again. How much better our lives would be.
Christopher Nolan almost allows colors into his mythical epic shot on 70mm IMAX film. thank god they stopped filming in time.

Will humanity ever be free of the influence of Edna Mode? Can any of us so much as consider the character design for a hero or villain without her manifesting in the room, fully aware of our sins?
You know what, another layer of difficulty is when youâre thinking about villains, and the wise words of Megamind come into your head. You donât just want your child to be just a regular villain. But how do you make your villain a Supervillain with no cape? Where is the drama? But Edna says no capes, you must deny them the flair. It is impossible to please them both, and itâs tearing this family apart.
you. you get it.

âGame on, then.â
Okay, but I love that Gandalf is just dropping his cloak to reveal another, slightly smaller cloak underneath it.
