I took these pictures many years ago in Israel in a time of peace. Silent tanks and a fiddler playing while his shadow dances across a wall riddled with bullet holes as we remembered things that came before and hoped that someday there would be peace.....there will be no peace until the hate stops. Israel was my home for years and welcomed me with open arms and treated me with kindness, as a Kiwi far from home I was amazed how loving and kind my Israeli friends and future family were. It breaks my heart that so many people around the world were openly celebrating what happened to all those innocent civilians, women and children. It breaks my heart that even all the way down here in New Zealand my partner and child have been mistreated, or threatened purely for being Jewish, and it breaks my heart that the Palestinian civilians on the ground are still being used as pawns and human shields in the hate campaigns of these terrorist groups.
I fear for all my sweet welcoming adopted friends and family in Israel right now....I don't know what else to say.
If you are one of those people who feels that the inhuman brutality perpetrated on those Israeli civilians was justified, or you celebrated those sick actions, please remove yourself from my contacts and don't ever speak to me again.
More than 500,000 people have already left Ukraine due to the invasion by the Russian Federation. The European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management estimates that roughly 18 million Ukrainians will be affected by the conflict in humanitarian terms, with 7 million internally displaced and 4 million seeking refuge elsewhere. To help those still in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian refugees, we’ve compiled this list of resources.

In June 1986, a then-15-year-old Wahlberg and three friends chased after three black children while yelling "Kill the n*****, kill the n*****" and throwing rocks at them. The next day, Wahlberg and the others followed a group of mostly black fourth graders (including one of the victims from the previous day) taking a field trip on a beach, yelled racial epithets, threw rocks at them, and "summoned other white males who joined" in the harassment. In August 1986, civil action was filed against Wahlberg for violating the civil rights of his victims, and the case was settled the next month.
Another racially-charged incident occurred in April 1988. The then 16-year old Wahlberg assaulted a middle-aged Vietnamese-American man on the street, calling him a "Vietnam fucking shit" and knocking him unconscious with a large wooden stick. Later the same day, Wahlberg attacked Johnny Trinh, another Vietnamese-American, punching him in the eye. When Wahlberg was arrested and returned to the scene of the first assault, he told police officers: "I'll tell you now that's the mother-fucker whose head I split open." Later, Wahlberg would explain that he was on PCP at the time. Investigators also noted that Wahlberg "made numerous unsolicited racial statements about 'g****' and 'slant-eyed g****'". Wahlberg was charged with attempted murder, pleaded guilty to felony assault, and was sentenced to two years in jail, but served only forty-five days of his sentence.

The very least you can do in this racist shithole society is not make violent millionaire racists richer or condone their behavior by treating them like average movie stars
Hi, I'm Jen, and I really hate doing this. But today has been several whammies … Jen Deslaurier needs your support for Who needs all these intestines anyway?
My bestest friend, who is housing me while I’m homeless, found out this morning that 1) she needs to have her bowel re-sectioned ASAP and 2) she’s been fired. Her rent is absurdly expensive, as is medical care in the US. Her family has a lot of expenses anyway, because her daughter is disabled and requires a lot of expensive medical care.
No pressure, but if any of you feel you can give a little, it would be very much appreciated! Jen is also my writing partner, and the kindest person I have ever met.
“If I’m next, hug my mom and burn this city down.” Hell of a sign at last night’s protest in Istanbul demanding end to femicide and violence against women.
SIGN NOW! This issue is urgent and really important. We need your support - please take action now!
Serbia’s most fertile land can be found in the beautiful Jadar Valley. Small family farmers grow raspberries and plums, engage in beekeeping and sheep and goat herding. The valley borders mountains, is surrounded by water and home to thousands of sustainable multi-generational farms.
But instead of protecting it, the Serbian government has approved a project with multinational mining corporation Rio Tinto, for the exploitation of “Jadarite”, a lithium ore in the valley. [1] The government and the company have ignored scientists and mining experts who advise vehemently against the mine and are threatening to cause irreparable damage to the water, land, air and its people. Local citizens, who do not want to give up their sustainable agricultural land which has been in their families for generations, are being ignored. [2]
We refuse to let the Government destroy the Jadar Valley on our behalf. We reject the poisoning of water sources.
The process of separating chemically stable lithium from jadarite ore involves the use of concentrated sulfuric acid. The process would take place 20 km from the Drina River and use 300 cubic meters of water every hour, while the chemically treated water would be returned to the Jadar River.
The outpouring of inevitably polluted water, as well as underground waters which contain arsenic, mercury and lead, would contaminate entire river basins and continue their journey across the Jadar to the Drina and Sava, polluting not only Serbia but other countries' water sources as well.
We reject the pollution of the air. Treatment with the above mentioned (and additional) aggressive acids produces toxic gases that can spread within a radius of over ten kilometers and which will corrode the skin and lungs of humans and animals.
We reject the endangerment of the population around the Jadar Valley in the interests of a multinational corporate profit. Rio Tinto has promised 700 new jobs, but forgot to mention that 19,000 people are set to be displaced or severely effected.
Rio Tinto in 2020, destroyed a 45,000 year old sacred Australian Aboriginal cave. [3] The company and its representatives have been repeatedly convicted of fraud and paid billions of dollars in damages [4] and fines for illegal destruction of land, but continue to ravage and destroy natural environment around the world. The company is accused of participating in war crimes in Papua New Guinea [5], where a ten-year civil war broke out due to the presence of their mine.
This petition is just one of the first steps in the fight against this mine, in which we stand behind the Serbian Constitution and the inhabitants of the Jadar Valley, as well as all the citizens of the Republic of Serbia who stand to suffer the catastrophic consequences of this ecologically disastrous project. To this day, we have not seen a public interest analysis for this venture, an analysis which is a legislative mandate in the actualization of such a project.
The citizens of Serbia have the right to clean air, clean water and healthy living conditions. Stop Rio Tinto’s dirty lithium mine and protect the people, our heritage, our environment and the rivers of the Jadar Valley. United we can save our environment.
References:
[1] The mine’s spatial plan covers 2,030 hectares, including 22 villages around Loznica and Krupanj, and was adopted without any long-term lithium exploitation plan, and without confirmation of reserves, on the basis of which the real impact of the mine on life and environment could be determined. Many agreements between the government and Rio Tinto have not been made public, even after they have been legally sought by citizens, indicating a serious lack of transparency and potential corruption on the government’s behalf.
Seems like there is about to be a raid in Wet'suwet'en, despite the ongoing natural/climate disaster in BC they still have time and resources to make sure the CGL pipeline can be constructed
A natural disaster just happened, as the OP said, and there's an urgent need to find missing people, rescue people who are stranded, get food and meds to people, etc and time is absolutely of the essence.
And the RCMP is using resources to block food, meds, potable water, etc. getting into Wet'suwet'en territory and possibly raiding the entire area while cameras are focused elsewhere.
The RCMP cares more about getting pipelines built than saving lives.
