"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no love, hold no lands, mother no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.." The female recited her vows, as she pulled the pure black furs around her. She saw some of her sisters, gearing up for a hunt. The young woman sighed, letting out a piff of hot air. They were so strong. They were brave, and noble. They were wht the Night's Watch was about, not weak little bastards like Rae...Another sharp breeze whipped through castle black, making the women of the Night's Watch brace themselves. It wasn't getting warmer....The opposite..Like the Starks said...Winter is coming, and it won't be kind.. Rae gripped the logs in her arms, before carrying them to the big mess hall, to re fill the dwindling flames. " Oi,Snow! " Rae stopped what she was doing, threw the logs in the fire and turned around to the powerful voice. Maester Kate...She may have been a Maester, but Rae didn't respect her..She just knew she had to. " The expedition needs a carry mule, you will be that such mule. Leave. Now! " the woman shouted, a smirk on her lips. Of course she was enjoying this..But that was what Rae wanted..Right? Beyond the wall was endless possibilities..But with that came danger. The wolves..The wildlings..Even...The White Walkers...You mentioned the White Walkers, and people laughed, but they knew. They knew it was only a matter of time before they returned. " B-but Maester Kate.." Rae began to plead, trying to get out of going beyond the wall. The women that went out in expeditions were brave and strong and knew how to fight. They were powerful women who began either as criminals or nobles and both guarenteed they knew their way atound a sword. " No buts, Snow! Join your sisters now!" Rae swallowed. It was useless to try and argue. Rae closed her eyes, breathing out before walking to join her sisters. As she got closer, she realised. There were eight horses. And nine people. Either they were going to share, which Rae doubted highly...Which meant... She would be walking..Walking fro god knows how long in god knows how much snow. One of the more vicious of the sisters turned around to Rae. " Ain't that funny? A snow drownin' in snow!" She sneered, laughing out loudly. Rae swallowed, looking straight at the gate in front of them, as it started to rise. She wasn't ready..No...But she had to be..And Rae knew nothing about beyond the wall.
