Maular is 7! 7 is a good nice number and it pumps! no untap but that's what ragga does so not sweating it very good card building it as weaker ragga dragga

Ive been looking into cool commanders to build, because I basically have one deck right now. And I really like Alesha, but Id love some variety.

Ive tried building Narset, Enlightened Master, but it felt too solitaire. Ive tried building Killian, Ink Duelist, but it felt too slow to compete against 3 opponents. Ive tried building Lightning, Army of One, but it felt too "boros equipment slop".

Im not even sure on how to make a commander deck that doesnt rely on cheating things into play or storming off. How else do I keep up with the other players???

the answer is here waiting for you. hard cast your big spells. pump your creatures. x cost? go for it. big mana? we in business. don't wanna run a slop deck? Gruul doesn't even know what slop is. keep up with players? the lowest your mana dorks should tap is for 7. don't even need to storm off cast 2-3 speed per turn and eliminate your friends one. by. one.

if you build him you are spared, some quick tips (prepare for a long post)

think of Ragga as a better oroboro breeze caller, your dorks that tap for a lot of mana like selvala or marwyn as a gaea's cradle and your big spells as a talon gates of Madara. the main goal is to generate a ridiculous amount of value and just power your way through, ragga untaps on cast which means even if you spell is countered you still get the untap, so if you build up the power (or toughness it's just a worse rate, 4 mana vs 3 mana) of your dork you can just repeatedly push out slammers and huge spells.

card draw is a huge aspect of the game plan, I got a whole post about my favorite card draw sources for ragga but the draw equal to power are the best, it's like having like 3 BIG necropotence turns back to back which fuels your game plan.

it's a killer deck that can be built to be grossly strong and even sees some fringe cEDH play

I threw together an oops creatures deck where all the spells in the deck were creatures and specifically hate bears which I still think is pretty fun but I haven't really found a good way to win barring primal surge

which isn't even a guaranteed win but I think there is something there I'm just not seeing it yet

If you play enough rummaging effects attached to bodies, then you can 1. Discard Primal Surge at a convenient time 2. play Eternal Witness and her sisters to get it back later.

It's not like Primal Surge is your primary gameplan with a Rurif Thar deck in the first place.

it's not a bad idea, the main reason I'm looking at ruric is that I think hate bear decks specifically ones that ping people rather than restrict them are funny in a group slug kind of way and the idea of a deck that is all creatures except like one or two spell is neat to me but the more I look at it it's such a slow and in effective plan that like outside of being a bracket 2 meme deck ruric is just kind stinks.

I've seen a few ruric lists that have cEDH records but they are generic gruul combo with ruric just sitting there while I'm not planning on building a second cEDH deck quite yet I try and look at high bracket lists for cards to see what they go with best so idk it just might not be meant to be you know?

I've been considering Mr creamy for my Etali deck after seeing Cam from the play to win pod use it. being able to filter my flips better is kind of huge I'm like 8 cards deep on the semi-gruul lists and stretching it a little more is kind of working for me

lurking predators is like a creature based rhystic study which is tight esp if I try and run a ton of mdfc's that are creatures specifically or that dryad from duskmorn it could be something
