@raggedxdress continued from X.
When Amy had asked Niamh to marry her, she was at first uncertain.
It wasn’t because she didn’t love Amy. She did. She loved her with every fiber of her being, with her entire heart. Yet she still hadn’t told Amy that she was a selkie. Niamh knew that they could never truly be happy together if Amy couldn’t accept what she was – a wild creature of the sea, ever changing.
At first, of course, her admission was met with skepticism. After more gentle words and Niamh showing Amy the coat, even shifting in front of her, the other women knew. She knew and accepted her wholeheartedly.
I will have to leave you at times, to return to the sea. But I will always come home to you.
Those words had been her wedding vows. Selkies had no need for weddings, or marriages, or rings, but they were important to Amy. Niamh gave her a pearl from her hair – as that was the selkie way – and they slipped simple gold bands onto their fingers.
“I know. I’m…a bit worried about how Meg will react,” Niamh admitted. “I don’t want her to be angry with you.” She gave Amy’s hand a squeeze. “If you want me there, though, I will go with you.”
It had been a difficult decision, of course- to be wed without those dearest to surround you with love and support- but, the government and their minds were; conflicting at best-- and Amy feared there were those less privileged, those living in fear and ruin.
Her heart ached for them, but, someday the world would see- she had to remain optimistic.
Jo would be thrilled, Laurie would be... supportive die to Jo's behest. Marmee was a tender loving woman, whom adored Niamh whole heartedly. It was Meg that Amy feared would croak.
"My dear, Meg is always cross with me. You will never aid in that." A small smile pulls on her lips as she held her hand out for Niamh. "Come, my love, it's time."

“Everyone I’ve ever loved is here within these walls.” -raggedxdress
The words caused Niamh to smile, her expression soft. Her fingers laced with Amy’s. “It’s been a while since you’ve all been together, hasn’t it?” Recently, it had been difficult for the March sisters to all be able to visit Marmee at the same time. Niamh knew that those weekends were Amy’s favorite.
“If you want to go spend time with your sisters, I can keep myself occupied for a while. I know you probably have a lot you’d like to talk about with them.”
@raggedxdress
A lot had changed. In her life. In her surroundings. Even her home. Her sisters have married. They still grieve the absence of Beth. And Marmee- dear, sweet Marmee; she was growing old and tired. It terrifies Amy. To a new, unimaginable height, it shakes her to her bones.
But, then she remembers nights shared with Niamh, and how well the other woman took care of her. And here they stood, together, under the eyes of God. Together. A life dedicated to each other.
Amy loves this Selkie with all of her heart- but, her family? They did not know of this secret. Knew not of their elopement either.
"Please don't busy yourself away. My time with them shall be yours as well. Niamh, you're family."
‘ we need to keep moving. stay ahead of those things. ’
“I’m still not quite sure what those things are.” It was obvious, the woman had been sheltered. Wide blue eyes surveyed the stranger trying to find some reason to trust to trust her. “My sisters aren’t back yet. They were supposed to be back.”
"Oh..." This was not good news at all. "Oh, no." Her voice was soft and sweet as she stepped closer to Erin. "I am so sorry." She reached up and wiped Erin's tear away with the pad of her thumb. If the roles were reversed and Laurie had moved on, thinking Amy were dead, the blonde would understand. But, what an unbearable pain. Amy's husband was dead, but he died loving Amy. And now, Erin's wife was right in front of them, yet unobtainable. That was almost worse.
"Come here." A gentle hand cradled the back of Erin's neck as she pulled her in for an embrace. "I'm sorry." It was a completely understandable scenario, but that didn't make it fair.
@raggedxdress continued from the saucy ask (can’t link bc I’m on mobile!)
A few giggles of her own escaped her lips, and she pulled back so that she could look at Amy’s face. “All day,” she admitted, nose crinkling as she grinned. “But I can’t help it. You’re so beautiful.”
She leaned in again, this time pressing a passionate kiss to Amy’s mouth. One hand moved to palm at her breast through the fabric of her dress while the other cupped her neck. Niamh had no shame in showering affection on the other woman.

Her sisters were thrilled to be back with the rest of the family. Jo and Meg celebrated the reunion with their husbands, her mother with her father, and Beth meekly made friends with some of the other teenagers. Erin had gone off to to find Tara. Even though she was surrounded, Amy couldn't help but to feel lonely. Everyone else had someone to go home to, while her love was buried in the ground behind a school.
When Erin returned, the blonde March could feel a shift in the atmosphere. Something was wrong. She almost asked where Tara was, but Erin spoke first. Though, it was rather faint. "Is she not here?" Amy stood to cross to her new friend, fearing the worst. "Erin, what is the matter?"
They finally had a moment to themselves, tucked away in the attic where Niamh slept. The selkie peppered kisses on the blonde’s shoulder, fingertips trailing down between her breasts to her stomach. The kisses traveled upwards, to Amy’s neck, where Niamh gently nipped at the blonde’s pulse point. (Niamh is slightly horny for her pretty gf)
"Niamh..." Amy giggled. She felt as if she had just pushed the door closed before roaming hands began to travel along her body. Her cheeks and chest flushed as she took in a hitched breath. "How long have you been waiting to do that?" She teased.
Reverend: Do you, Theodore Laurence III, take Amy March to be your lawfully wedded wife?
Laurie: I Scooby-Dooby-Doo.
Amy: I want a divorce.
💐 To give my muse a bouquet
"Oh..." Amy gasped. "Why, aren't these just quite lovely." She leaned forward and placed a kiss on the other girl's cheek. "I need to get these in water immediately."
💝
Amy smiled down at the red box. "Thank you." She stated politely. "But, you didn't have to get me anything." She gingerly took the box with one hand and squeezed Erin's shoulder with the other. "That being said however..." she dropped her hand from the other woman and padded over to a desk. She pulled open a drawer and plucked out a card. "I couldn't quite help myself." She handed the card to the Australian. "Happy Valentine's Day, Erin."

“We’re in this together now.” Amy said delicately. They traveled on in silence, the group only stopping to check their surroundings. The blonde was beginning to lose hope on them reaching their destination before nightfall, but Jo pointed.
“There.” Jo said. “This is it.” The place had big metal walls and a watch tower. This is where Baher had been this whole time? The place was a fortress.
A man in the watch tower looked down at then. A man Amy would later learn was Rick.
“State your business!” He shouted down.
The voice was unmistakable. Erin actually laughed a little, probably looking a bit delirious. Maybe she had lost her mind a bit. But she was just so happy. This really wasn’t a dream. She really was going to see Tara again.
“Rick,” Erin called back. Her telltale accent would likely be enough to give her away but she identified herself anyways, “it’s Erin. Tara’s Erin,” as if he might need a reminder. “I’ve brought friends. People that helped me find you, find Tara. Please let us in.” All I want to do is see Tara.
There was silence. Perhaps stunned silence. She was supposed to be dead of course. Maybe Tara was right there on the other side hearing her voice for the first time. Erin didn’t know but the next noise was the sound of the gate being pulled back.
“See, I told you it would be okay,” Erin said as she turned to Amy and the rest of the March clan. “It’s all going to be okay now.” If she only knew.
When Erin called the man by name, Amy knew everything was going to work out for them- they had found the settlement, they were going to be safe.
When the gate opened, Jo practically ran, knowing that her husband was in there. Her alive husband. A wash of sadness washed over the youngest sister. Laurie hadn't made it to see this place. Amy brushed aside her feelings and squeezed Erin's shoulder
"Come on, you can introduce me to your wife."

“I’m fine.” Amy stated. But, Jo knew that was a lie. Amy was overwhelmed as an approaching doom seemed to hover over her, impeding any happy thought. As she walked, her entire life- the life she had, was being left behind. Laurie was being left behind. And while she found peace knowing that he was buried- but, it pained her to know that she would most likely never visit his grave again. “How exciting, we’re so close to the others.”
Erin knew it was an impossible question to answer given the situation but she was proud of Amy for holding so steadfast in her assertion. The Australian had definitely misjudged her on their first meeting. “It is exciting,” she said softly though her tone betrayed her slightly. The closer they got to the group, the more nerves she could feel building. She would finally get to see Tara again. She had no idea what was going on in the group or what would happen upon her return especially with the addition of a few more people. “Thank you for helping me get back to her.”
