It also genuinely really bothers me how so many people's "pro fat" posts are along the lines of "Yeah, fat is fine/good, eat whatever you want as much as you want!" Like yes that's a good sentiment and yes fear of fatness is what causes so many people to eat less than they otherwise would. I Understand This. But it's important to me that people understand. Someone being fat does not actually mean they eat more than a thin person does. Just because you're ostensibly defending or praising the fat body does not mean you aren't partaking in dangerous stereotyping

If you frame fatness as 1. A deviation from a 'normal' baseline and 2. Caused by overindulgence, you are perpetuating a hurtful stereotype and I don't want to see it. I don't care if you think it's a good thing or not. I don't like being assumed to eat more (or more sweets, etc) than the thin people in my life because of my size, and I especially don't like the causal link people assume. Some people's bodies just are fat without them having 'done anything' to cause that to happen.

so the Persied meteor shower occurs every year in July-August and its peak is always close to my birthday, so i was starting to plan a trip somewhere up north to a dark zone or whatever they're called, but the more i'm reading it seems like by the time i'd be up there, it might not be worth it? like all these sources say the shower falls off rapidly after its peak... and if i lived close to a dark zone it would be one thing, but driving 6 hours north and spending a couple hundred bucks on a motel and food and such... i want to be worth it. and it sounds like it might not be.

so anyway, now what should i do instead? i've got essentially from 5pm thursday to next monday morning to do whatever. :/

They make your hands cold. They give you little asshole pucker wrinkles around your mouth. They kill you so fucking slow. Make it so your lungs hurt all the time. They make every cold a chest cold that takes months to go away. They suck your money out bit by bit, every day forever. Just be a little bit more poor forever until they kill you in fifty years. They kill you for fifty years. Just a little shorter of breath, just a little colder, heart beating a little too fast. And the longer you go, the harder it is to quit.

You're depressed and nicotine is an anti-depressant as well as a stimulant. It helps ease that crushing void in your soul just a little bit. Puts a little bit of energy in your steps. Until it doesn't. Until all you can think about is when your next smoke break is. Until you're sixty five and in the hospital because you need emergency surgery on an clogged artery and you're attempting suicide by willful medical neglect because getting the surgery that will save your life will mean not smoking a cigarette for three whole days.
