Breaking Bard (Jimmy and Craig)
"Parlor tricks," he said dismissively, in regards his little knife stunt. Still, he was pleased about the comment. "Thieves are also performers, in a way."
Craig gladly accepted the juice and pulled it nearer. As the bard talked, he went through several discreet methods of testing it, swirling the liquid to judge the consistency and sniffing it to catch any smells and dipping a finger in it to lick up a drop. When he determined it was acceptable, he took a long swig of it, and then continued to observe the bard as he through a plan that had clearly been hashed out before.
"I hesitate to bring up that your advertisement didn't say anything about four or five adversaries," he said with a trace of annoyance. "Assuming they aren't wearing too much armor though, and your lullaby is effective, I could probably deal. The trick here though is that I was under the impression that I was graciously taking on a, excuse me, charity case; accepting a pittance as a award to help you get back at one man. Not to bring down a whole gang. Even with your help, I still think I ought to be compensated a little more handsomely."
"W-well jumping jiminies, buddy!" Well shit. In terms of actual gold, Jimmy was piss poor. As a general rule, his natural charm, wit and magical songs of enchantment were enough to get by on a daily basis, but he hadn't taken into account the actual monetary price of a blood feud with ASSHOLE BARD.
"If better p-payment is what you need i'd be much obliged. Very much. I-i suppose I was too wrapped up in my own anger at the sit- at the situation that I didn't consider that n-normal people don't risk their lives for rat shit. You go ahead and name your price, F-feldspar. I'll do what I can to ac-to acooom.. to accommodate, but just so you... kn-know, i'm not going to b-bl..blow you! Wow what a great audience." Perhaps Jimmy could go into the thief's service, that or sell his clothes or organs to a dodgy Witch Doctor. Either way, he needed that book back whether it involved fellatio or not. Jimmy really hoped not.
