Today’s idiot theory: titans are just really big rock wraiths. Discuss.

No, honestly, this is basically what I believe.  I think Titans, golems, rock wraiths, and Sha-Brytol may very well all operate on basically the same principle.  “Non-organic matter, which may or may not contain a pre-existing living dwarf, but is now animated by the combination of that being’s/those beings’ spirit(s)/memories and lyrium.”

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I was going for with that sentence. Specifically:

I had to dig through a bunch of screenshots from Descent, last night, and the titan’s guardian, obviously a rock wraith, caught my attention as having a sort of central blue glowy bit, much like the heart of the titan it was standing in front of.

And rock wraiths are said to be the spirits of dwarves possessing piles of rocks.

And we know titans have the minds of many dwarves, or even are the minds of many dwarves. (Thank you, Dagna.)

So, yeah, I’m of a mind that if you mash a bunch of rock wraiths together, it’s probably gonna be a titan.

Or, alternately, to talk about the dwarven faith a bit, if you shear living pieces off a titan, you get rock wraiths – which is to say, when the spirits don’t what? return to the stone.

That they’re rock wraiths implies they almost succeeded, but didn’t quite make it. The profane, obviously, were rejected because of their corruption. (And I gotta yell about the profane at some point, too.)

And with that said, I’m really curious about the relationship between surface dwarves and the strength of the titans and the frequency of rock wraiths.
