Sorry for weighting in on intra-community conversations but although the land of Israel is important to many jews worldwide I truly hate the argument that Zionism is central to Judaism and Jewish life bc the on-the-ground reality of Zionism is that it’s lead to the creation of a racially organised settler state and at the risk of being blunt....It's "next year in Jerusalem" not "next year in the capital of a racist apartheid state." Anti-zionism isn't an objection to Jews living in Jerusalem (or the whole of historic Palestine), where they have lived for millennia, but to a specific state that stole land using violence and oppresses certain inhabitants. Imo, the Land of Israel =/= Israel the political entity.
