is this anything
i just watched obsession. I’m not the same person I was before I clicked play.
Another thing I really like about Obito and Kakashi’s homoerotic rivalry is the structural symmetry in their story arc (like their symmetrical sharingans and scars):
A warm and principled Obito saves the heart of a cold and thorny Kakashi who was consumed by pain and grief. 18 years later, Kakashi’s gentle and unwavering faith fills Obito’s empty, despairing heart with hope and belonging once more.
In their youth, Kakashi lashed out at Obito for thwarting his perfect ninja ideal (sticking to the rules). In adulthood, Obito lashed out at Kakashi for thwarting his perfect ninja world (the Tsukuyomi).
Obito puts on a mask and becomes a terrorist. Kakashi puts on a mask and becomes an assassin.
Obito’s dreams of becoming Hokage at the beginning of their story. Kakashi becomes Hokage at Obito’s request at the end of their story.
Their story begins with Obito sacrificing himself to save Kakashi and gifting him one sharingan. And it ends with Obito sacrificing himself to save Kakashi and gifting him two sharingan.
A few fanons about my post-war AU OBKK
I love how 90% of OBKK fandom just agreed that alive Post-war!Obito is Kakashi's ex terrorist war-criminal househusband under house arrest. Not that I complain, though. Quite the opposite, I love that idea.
I also like to think that Obito is extremely upset about Naruto healing Kakashi's left eye. And even more upset about Madara ripping his Sharingan out of Kakashi's socket. Because that was his gift to him, the one that he never wanted back but now that Kakashi has his eye back he can't return things back to normal. It was something that connected them even in the darkest times, it was a piece of that innocent Obito that his adult self wanted to anchor himself to. You know, because he lost his own identity thanks to Madara and Black Zetsu?
I like to imagine that Obito had to be blind for the rest of his life because his eyes were sealed as a part of his punishment. He could take the seal away only in cases of danger for Kakashi (which isn't a lot, considering that he can protect himself perfectly fine) or a crisis that might be resolved with power of Kamui. By the way, Kakashi lets him walk around the house without a seal sneakily. Not that anyone needs to know.
And Obito grows out his hair a bit. No particular reason for that, I just like the way his hair looks in the scene where Rin died:
Not Madara's length (that would bring bad memories back) but I believe that Uchihas really look better with slightly longer hair than average shinobi would like. His hair stays white, though. You can't just become Juubito and reverse hair color back to black after that.
As I said in previous posts, I like to think that Obito and Kakashi are constantly fighting for being bottom in their relationship. Kakashi doesn't have any specific reason for that, he just enjoys that.
Obito, however, needs to be bottom to remind himself that he doesn't need to be in control, that someone else can be trusted to be above him. Pre-war he was always top in his one night stands where he was very rough with his partners (not that there were many of them, he didn't have motivation for being with someone) because of Madara's influence. He was impersonating Madara and Madara wasn't bottom to anyone (yeah, right, no Uchiha is top in my mind but shinobi world isn't ready to accept that). Post-war he wants to be vulnerable with someone, and that someone is Kakashi.
Kakashi didn't realize that for a long time because Obito was pleasing him a lot in attempts to avoid questions. I'm adopting the headcanon by @lishallii that Obito is pretending to be normal for him. He lost himself so long ago that he doesn't know who he really is anymore and he just learned to adapt to whatever people want him to be. Obito absolutely doesn't know how to be himself and Kakashi is too distracted with his duties as Hokage fixing all that bs that is shinobi world to notice that.
Remembering the times where I would watch Sonic Boom with my younger brother. I couldn’t focus at all because every time Sonic and Shadow spoke all I could hear was Deidara and Kisame 😭
Part 1&2 together!
no one can convince me that kakashi wouldn't fall harddd and I mean hard for jonin obito if they got to grow up together normally
a handsome best friend who you've been idolising since childhood, who's sharing a sharingan and a dimension with you, and you're fighting and doing everything else together too??? he would've FOLDED
It’s fun to think about why a Naruto character is a certain zodiac based on zodiac lore.
Sometimes it’s obvious like Guy being a Capricorn because Capricorns are hard workers, or Deidara being a Taurus because he’s stubborn. Or Kakashi being a Virgo because of like everything (intelligent, being hard on himself, following the rules and being overly critical as a kid, etc)
But then there’s stuff that makes you think, like why is Rin a Scorpio?
look at my sensei dawg I’m cooked
I prefer kkob to obkk not because I actually care who sticks their dick in who, but because it's INCREDIBLY hard to find an obkk fanfic where Obito's entire character isn't focused on making Kakashi's life miserable. I'm not talking about all obkk shippers, I've seen a lot of good work, but unfortunately it happens so often that it's unbearable. Like... Were we watching the same anime?
What bothers me even more about the obkk fics is that Kakashi often becomes an little angel who has done nothing wrong in his life. The most brutal mischaracterization I've seen is when kid Obito despises and bullies kid Kakashi, who endures it like a miserable white lamb. Like... it's so UNcanon that it makes me want to cry
I don't hate obkk in general(I repeat, I don't give a shit who sticks their dick in who), and in kkob fics there are also cases of disgusting mischaracterization, but the chance of stumbling upon the fact that one of them is a demon from hell is less
I need other Obito enjoyers opinions on this. It can't just be me, right?
“Where did I go wrong…?”
calling Obito straight is bi erasure
The impact of Apartheid and colonialism on South Africa stares you in the face no matter where you are in the country, yet African migrants are being framed as the cause of all our problems.
Obito and his lip habit
man i lov him
What Madara says here can be interpreted in a straight forward way, as in he is responsible for the string of events that lead to the fourth war.
But I like to think that since he views Obito as Madara, an extension of himself, he is speaking of Obito’s actions as his own.
Obito didn’t start the fourth war, Madara did.
