We're the Shadesong Constellation! We're a fictive-heavy plural system with a bodily age of 30. Collectively, we identify as nonbinary and transmasc, and our collective pronouns are they/he. Currently, there are 15 of us (not including fragments)! All of us are body age unless otherwise indicated down below. (Please do not treat our littles like children; they are fine without supervision!)
Current Hosts: Chance, Echo.
Current Co-Host: Barry
Who's currently fronting?
Sourcemates and doubles are welcome to interact! Please leave us out of syscourse!
Common sources for our active headmates include: Yugioh (DM - Go Rush), In Stars and Time, Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics), Umamusume, Steven Universe, Undertale, Deltarune, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, Legend of Zelda, and Kingdom Hearts. Our constellation also includes a large number of fragments and soulbonds.

I always see a lot of fictives say "Please treat me as a person, not a fictional character," which is understandable, but does anyone else love being treated as source/like a fictional character?
Did you know her?
Her dreams, her aspirations? One single sentence, address the rest,
So tell me how you knew her?
Embellish your relation, pain that you feign for a strange 'cuz you'd rather see me gone.
been trying to figure out some system stuff as of recent, current theory is that one of our hosts (oldest active headmate) is actually a subsystem consisting of himself and a little who's held our gender issues since middle school. this little from the subsystem goes by iris currently, uses they/she pronouns.
doodled chance giving iris his hat as a sort of symbol of accepting whatever's going on with her and being open to working with her and helping her.
it's not good art. ours never is. just trying to get some feelings and emotions out.
Being a fictive is like. What if you were famous but nobody recognized you but everyone thinks your trauma is really funny to joke about or they treat you like a little meow meow that can do no wrong (even if you did do so many things wrong and you're wracked with guilt) or they treat you like trash or a sex object but nobody wants to treat the you you like a human being and if you open up about how the battle with the evil wizard was actually pretty harrowing or you wake up thinking about the killing game you were trapped in or that you were assaulted or you had to kill someone or lots of people or that when you close your eyes you relive your death sometimes everyone treats it like a fun little joke or like you're an idiot for being affected by something that didn't happen to the body you're in now.
And you're just expected to rawdog that shit. And sometimes even you treat your own past like a funny little joke until things get too real and you have a war flashback in your bedroom despite the fact that this body has never been to war, and then you just. Have to confide in the few people that will take it seriously.
Yeah anyway we're definitely not angry about the fact that we can't talk about our own pasts in therapy how are you guys
And no, these memories are also not allegories for what happened to us as a child, and we should still be allowed to talk about things that are unrelated to the body's history if they're affecting us mentally.
Love it when I'm the main fronter rn but Jax (Elegy) has been ranting in my head all day about how the circus in source was the first place he could really present as male and now he's stuck in a body people perceive as female and it's cool people see him as trans but it's the opposite way of how he really was and it's like
Buddy. I do not have time for this I have work to do
there seems to be just a huge niche of people online that really need/would greatly benefit from the framework of plurality but are afraid to claim it. which i understand because me too i doubt it for myself a lot. but i think there are a lot of us who don't really meet the criteria for DID or OSDD yet would still benefit from viewing ourselves as actually multiple selves. and perhaps a substantial number of us will later find out they meet the criteria for a diagnosis about it but i think we need to be less caught up on "do i meet this criteria" and instead focus on "what will be helpful to me". which may include resources for people with DID/OSDD, or may not.
mundane plurality is making important realizations about the system's history in headspace while some dude is doing a normal ass task in front. like... driving, or taxes, or something.
we applied for a different job last week. this is largely motivated by rising gas prices and the fact that we have a 40 minute work commute one way. and we were asked to interview this week. so we interviewed this morning before we came into work.
then of course we had to tell our supervisor about the interview afterwards because. it's a job within the same agency we work for so he's being used as a reference
then we have a panic attack over the idea that a) we're abandoning our current program by interviewing outside it, and b) that we're replaceable and do not matter in the grand scheme of things
THEN our mom texts us. and follow me here. we work for different programs within the same agency, but weirdly, the way things line up, our supervisors have the same supervisor. so mom tells us that our supervisor's supervisor told her (this person works in the same building as her but not as us) UMPROMPTED that they're working on a job description for a new position in my program, and i am the person they have in mind for the position. and wanted me to know that but not to tell anyone else.
(not that it matters. i know my coworkers are not interested in the position)
apparently when i told my supervisor about my interview, that caused the chain of command above me to panic and scramble to try to work on getting this job posted.
so we went from thinking no one wants us and we don't matter, to apparently we are very desirable.
i'm still reeling from this and i was the main fronter for all of this. WHAT DO YOU MEAN.
i am not a psychiatrist but i do find it really weird how autism checklists are so often focused on "outward" signs of autism rather than what is going on internally. i don't know how to explain it but "do you make eye contact with other people" feels like a much less relevant question than "how does it feel when you have to make eye contact with other people?"
while i'm here, the other one that always pisses me off is "do you interpret idioms literally, for example 'bull in a china shop'?"
well, no, obviously. i know what "bull in a china shop" means because that is a popular phrase with a clearly defined meaning. and if i hadn't heard it before, then i would still not interpret it literally, because it has the cadence of an idiom and i would probably be able to work out from context what it meant. what is the point of this question
third and final complaint: "are you good at noticing subtext?"
i feel like the problem with this question is best illustrated by a conversation i had with a friend a while back, where i said something like, "i feel very safe with you because you don't do subtle hints and you are always very straight-up with me about what you are thinking and feeling."
and he laid a hand on my shoulder and was like, look dude i'm gonna be straight up here. i am subtle with you constantly and you simply do not notice <3
