watched the 2017 captain underpants movie last night and it was good but what the FUCK was that ending. Setting Krupp up on a date? Learning a heartwarming moral lesson about how he just needs company to not be so abusive?

The reason those books are good is because they're written by an adult with ADHD who was abused in the school system, for kids with ADHD who are being abused by the school system. They're baby's first political satire that's the POINT. Making it about how the abuser just needs a gf is a betrayal of the pro-youth and anti-authoritarian message that made me latch onto those books so hard as a kid.

i feel like this is why i never liked the movie or show AS MUCH as i liked the underlying theme and message that the book had. i feel like the movie removes the message of krupp's existence as a character! i hate how him being shoehorned a love interest is what "fixes" him, and george and harold are forced to feel bad for him because he's "sad and lonely" yet they the movie never shows the same sympathy for professor p or melvin despite it making sense if krupp is getting grace. like it genuinly annoys me so bad tysm for saying this
