I GOOGLED THE LYRICS TO THE FIRST SONG ON SIMONS PLAYLIST FOR ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS AND I WANT YALL TO TELL ME IM OVERTHINKING EVERYTHING:

VERSE 1: this has to be about simon and it has to be as soon as wayward son ends and watford is under attack. ALSO hes getting the sword of mages back somehow and i !!!! am ready !!!!

VERSE 2: this one is lamb i feel like. his use of words in wayward son is what nearly killed them all and simon hates lamb.

VERSE 3: “davids boy” made me gasp violently. the mage’s name was david and he was the ruler and simons his son and rainbow has said we’ll finally see all the loose ends from carry on (like simons parentage) become tied up.

what does this all mean ? i have no clue

This scene reminds me so much of the line “You color me blue” In the song “Norman Fucking Rockwell” by Lana Del Ray and Jack Antonoff. I always imagined this line to be holding someone’s hand and being completely, overwhelmingly melancholy about it- just like this scene in Wayward Son. So here are Baz and Simon being colored blue because they both know it’d be over if either of them ever found the words.

I’ve been having a Bad Day™️ so my partner decided to cheer me up by trying to describe the plot of Carry On to me, based on what he remembers me saying about it over the past 10 months. Here’s what I managed to get out of him:

There are two dudes at a British boarding school—Simon Snow and François (the posh c***)—so obviously they’re doing butt stuff, or at least some light petting. (me: It’s a YA novel! — him: So that’s just the fanfic then? — me: Yeah)

They aren’t actually friends at first but then some stuff happens and then they’re friends

Then there’s the magic dude—the big magic dude, uhhh, Grandpa Magic Daddy—who’s all like Luke I am your father to Simon Snow except he never tells him and just spies on Simon like a creeper; He later becomes the Prime Minister of the UK and decides to do Brexit

All the magic is going to disappear, and somehow it’s Grandpa Magic Daddy’s fault, I think

Simon Says implodes his magic so balance will be restored to The Force, but then he cries

François has done nothing for the whole first book because he’s just a cardboard cutout of a person

In book 2, Simon and his cardboard cutout boyfriend go on a road trip to the States, staying in Bed and Breakfasts and having a lovely time

At some point Simon gets a sword; the end

(when asked about his predictions for book 3) They’ll go home and settle down and get a cardboard cutout of a cat
