reminder that this is an explicitly affirming Christian space. I don’t just ‘love the sinner’ i love the ‘sin’. gayness, including sex and romance, is good. HRT and gender affirming surgery is good. God is good, and He made all of the above as distinctly holy and beautiful.
Every time I have ever found God it has been from a group of outsiders.
Every picture of God that has ever looks like him has been made by people who never saw a Jesus that looked like themselves
I have never felt more at home than when listening to a gay person talk about God. I have never understood someone better than the lesbian Catholics who love to veil, or the transgender episcoples who see their transition as an opportunity to share in God's creation, or anyone who found God and then carved their own way to him.
When I sit in chapel, and the worship music feels like noise, I know there is a hymn being sung with a shaking voice that sounds just like Christ calling out for his father. When I see lessons written in script, I know there are sheets of construction paper printed in stock fonts on a family's kitchen table sent home from Sunday school teaching the same. When I get a hand out with Bible verses bought from Amazon, I know that someone has written the same verse in craft glue and collage and their blood.
I think God is present the most when the process of finding him is distinctly human; because I think he knows us, and makes the way he finds us human.
Governments should not do war crimes. This should not be a controversial thing to say.
Being a Queer Christian is beautiful actually because in a world telling you that you aren’t loved you get to look to God and say “Don’t worry; My faith is stronger than their fear”
And there is something poetic to that.
this june we are 1) receiving the Holy Spirit, 2) gazing in love and adoration upon the Sacred Heart of Christ, and 3) transing our genders
Who told you to love your country. Knock that off
“Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” - Philippians 3:19-20
“My kingdom is not of this world” - John 18:36
“We must obey God rather than men.” - Acts 5:29
“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers” - Hebrews 12:28
“Indeed, conceit, arrogance and egotism are the essentials of patriotism. Let me illustrate. Patriotism assumes that our globe is divided into little spots, each one surrounded by an iron gate. Those who have had the fortune of being born on some particular spot consider themselves nobler, better, grander, more intelligent than those living beings inhabiting any other spot. It is, therefore, the duty of everyone living on that chosen spot to fight, kill and die in the attempt to impose his superiority upon all the others. The inhabitants of the other spots reason in like manner, of course, with the result that from early infancy the mind of the child is provided with blood-curdling stories about the Germans, the French, the Italians, Russians, etc. When the child has reached manhood he is thoroughly saturated with the belief that he is chosen by the Lord himself to defend his country against the attack or invasion of any foreigner. It is for that purpose that we are clamoring for a greater army and navy, more battleships and ammunition...” - Emma Goldman, What Is Patriotism?
Happy pride :)
Happy Pride month!!! Let us celebrate queerness as a gift from God 🌈
Happy June! reminder that queer people exist snuggly within Christ’s Sacred Heart as His unconditionally accepted beloveds. His Heart burns for us, just as our hearts burn for Him ❤️🔥

“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
Matthew 5:7-9 NIV
Radical empathy and love is incredibly hard and I will fail over and over again but I also think it's the most important thing you can do
“Finally, let us put on the whole armor of God. The forces of culture, wealth, nationalism, and fear against which we contend are very powerful. Our protection is the power of the love of God to sustain us through what may be the dark days ahead.”
— Mary Lord in Friends Journal
evangelicals being like "god made men to do This and be like This and women to do That and be like That that's just how it is" and it's just a picture of a white man and woman following traditional gender norms makes me so insane like you boring fascist fucks. god made 2 million species of beetles. god made whales, ducks, humans, and 1500 other species capable of same sex behavior. god made fish and amphibians that change sexes. god made more than 30 different intersex variations in human beings. god, in his infinite curiosity. wake up!!! fuck!!
Christian transphobia is so funny sometimes
Surely no one in the bible ever changes their name and identity to live a more fulfilling life
here it is again, my favorite day of the year. we remember today, we are borrowing dirt. you are not above creation; you are a part of it. you are not living on Earth; you belong to Her, you are a piece of Her. you are dust breathing; you are the ashes of a thousand forest fires, the stuff built from the corpses of stars. you are made and guided by the Force that controls life and death, beginnings and ends, and the pathways in between. death is not a curse, it is a phase of being: a roadway between states of consciousness. you'll return back to where you once were. but God has decided that you should get to be of a separate consciousness; God made you alive and human. do well with that and be grateful. and remember today to whom you belong, where you come from, and where you are going.
i hope the Divine may resonate in your life today in a way that you can see. (the Divine is always there; i hope today your eyes may be open to it.)
