Thereās a memory always playing in her mind.
She can still remember that day from a few years ago.
There was a boy trying to do a high jump, and kept failing.
But Hakunoās attention wasnāt on him. It was on Rin.
Hakuno saw the scene by accident. To this day, she wasnāt sure why it bothered her so much, but Rin was captivated by him.
And Hakuno decided not to catch up to her that day and took a different way home.
She put down the can and glanced at Rin, who had no idea of her internal struggle.
āI donāt think you should participate. Donāt you already have a lot on your plate?ā Hakuno asked, knowing that this is a losing battle.
Once Rin makes up her mind, thereās no changing it.
āHm. Well, if I somehow die in this holy grail war, youāll finally be free of me.ā Rinās joke was too morbid for Hakunoās liking.
āDonāt joke about it.ā She frowned and crossed her arms. āJust because I donāt like our situations doesnāt mean I want to see you die. Geez, Rin. Iām not like that.ā
āIām just messing with you!ā Rin seemed surprised by her reaction, and let out a short and awkward laugh before clearing her throat and drinking her tea. āIām participating because I want to. I love challenges, okay? No one is forcing me to.ā
Hakuno was unhappy with her answer.
Why would she put her life on the line for some challenge?
āThe holy grail grants any wish, right?ā Hakuno asked. āWhat are you going to wish for?ā
āFor you to look less bland.ā
āOh, you think youāre so funny.ā
