the collapsing bubble sends out a shockwave strong enough to kill anything in a 10 cm diameter due to pure pressure

What I really love about The Dragon Prince is that Callum isn’t fully blood-related to Ezran or Harrow. They could’ve made Callum all angsty about being a “Step-Prince” and have him be all “We’re not real brothers / You’re not my dad”, then have him slowly grow into the role of a good brother to Ezran. Instead, he is a good brother right off the bat, and there is so much love in their bond.

Sure, Callum and Ezran share the same mother, but oftentimes in fiction,the term “half-brothers” is viewed as “Not really brothers”. But here, for these two? That trope doesn’t apply.

In the second episode, when Rayla tells Callum that she must kill Ezran to complete her mission…

Callum was willing to die in order to protect his little brother. Like, did not hesitate to put himself in Ezran’s place.

He was going to dive into a frozen lake to save Ezran. And when he didn’t resurface, Callum was horrified that he lost his baby brother.

There has never been any doubt that Callum cares for and loves Ezran very much.

Then there’s Callum’s relationship with King Harrow. 

Now, it’s established that it was hard for Callum to call Harrow his father. Not because he didn’t believe it to be true, not because there is no love between them, but because he felt he didn’t deserve to refer to the king by such an endearing word. 

Callum has a lot of respect for King Harrow. He’s afraid that he would be stepping out of line by calling him “Dad”, so he plays it safe and addresses him the way anyone else would: As a King.

He says “I’m his stepson.” Not, “He’s not my father.” I feel like there’s a difference between these two phrases. By saying “I’m his stepson”, it’s basically telling us that Callum feels he’s not fit to call the king his father, no matter how much Harrow acts as one toward him. 

But this isn’t due to how the king treats him. Harrow is never cold or closed-off around Callum, and he’s never made him feel like he wasn’t part of the family. 

From Harrow’s perspective, there is no denying that Callum is his son, and he loves him very much. 

And Ezran is right. Harrow would want Callum to call him “Dad”. But only if he wanted to. He would never force the boy into doing so if he wasn’t okay with it. The tension between Harrow and Callum is not due to a lack of devotion, but out of respect for each other’s boundaries.   

But in the end, there is nothing but love, affection, and just… a strong familial bond between all three of them. Callum may not be blood-related to Harrow, he may only be Ezran’s half-brother, but that does not mean he isn’t family. He is given so much love by his father and his brother, and he gives that same love back to both of them. 

TLDR: The Dragon Prince establishes one of the most important lessons in life: Family isn’t defined by blood. It’s defined by love.

Safe Blogging Masterpost

Since Tumblr is purging fan accounts from every fandom I thought I’d make a master post of resources for safe blogging.

What we know so far:

This started with  Backgrid and Splash New using reverse image search through a third party to protect their photos.

It was first limited to  paparazzi photos, events, red carpets and set photos.

However now it is rumored to be extended to other stuff like celebrity photoshoots etc.

A better, proper explanation here.

FAQs:

Rebloging is fine, only the original post will get flagged and deleted.

You get three strikes for copyright infringement and then your blog gets terminated.

If your main blog gets terminated, then all your sideblogs go, no matter if you are a member or an admin.

If you get warnings for your sideblog then only the sideblog gets terminated.

Notes or no notes, if you have posted anything from the above category, it will be flagged.

It’s not limited only to the United States, it’s happening internationally.

If your edit is a part of a larger graphic and different form the original offending photo you’re probably safe.

It’s not limited to one fandom, everyone is being effected from Marvel, to Musicians, to WWE, EVERYONE.

Protective Measures:

The best option so far is to delete any photos you posted (POSTED, not reblogged).

Like I mentioned above it was limited to only paparazzi photos but now it’s rumoured to be extended to everything that was not posted by the celebrity themselves.

If you’re very attached to your edit, changing the post to “private” may help (but probably not for very long.)

This is an excellent post about how to buy some time to delete posts or to protect your blog.

This website hides all of your reblogs so you can use it to see all your original post and delete the offending ones. (Also mentioned in the above post)

You can also take a backup of your blog by going to tumblr.com/settings/blog/your url and clicking on Export at the bottom of the page.

@captainevanss has answered many asks on this, please go through her blog before sending another ask, she has answered every possible question there is.

Future Blogging:

If you post photos in future remember to save it as a new post and remove existing EXIF details before posting through third party apps (via @tessathompsson)

Just in case anyone wants the context: He has been making music in Chicago, he recently performed to a large audience and met London on da track, who offered him an opportunity in LA. She didn’t want to leave Chicago because of her business there. He told her that she doesn’t have to go, he just needs to do this for his music. She got upset because he straight up told her that he valued his career over their relationship and she did this.

Hey what’s up, that HTTYD 3 poster got me fucked up

So this official poster has been released for How To Train Your Dragon 3 and it has left me with… opinions. 

My first initial reaction was excitement! Oh hell yeah HTTYD 3 is coming out! I adored the first two! But then i saw…

SIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHHHHH I knew immediately that this was most likely a female night fury and fuck yeah shit fuck it is which is so disappointing. I could write a huge essay on how female characters are portrayed in media. I could write a massive blog about smurfette syndrome and how female characters are always just a pink, soft version of their male counterparts, or how female animal or anthro characters still have to fall into society’s beauty standards so we do crazy things like give ducks tits or large eyelashes. 

I COULD talk about why these things occur, and how this is a worrying reflection of how society views human females, that males are the default and females are the other… but I’m not going to do that TODAY.
