Welcome to the Rain World Bestiary, a blog cataloguing the various fauna in Rain World.

Creatures within Rain World have a ton of variation, And this blog is for cataloguing as many individual creatures as possible.

I believe a blog like this existed before, But as far as I know it's gone inactive.

You can submit your own creatures if you want! My only rules are that i'd prefer you add on a description, Since rain world sprites can be a bit hard to make out sometimes, And to specify if you have a mod like Emerald's Tweaks that adds additional rare creature variation or not. Creatures that use Emerald's Tweaks, As well as any similar mods, Will be under the #purposed organism tag to distinguish them from purely vanilla/downpour creatures, as to not mislead anyone.

I occasionally reblog regular rain world stuff and post headcanons, too, Not just creatures! Everything that isn't a creature will be tagged with #not a creature.

All creatures will be tagged accordingly to make scrolling through the archive easier. If I miss any let me know!

Modded content is allowed, And will be tagged with #modded content for those who want to filter it out. Downpour content will also be tagged with #downpour.

All creatures with multiple variants will be encompassed under one tag. I.E All lizards are covered under the "#Lizard" tag.

i think people aren't talking more about the iterator interior (not the can) aesthetic, it's insane and absurdly lovecraftian in a very interesting way, it's genuinely so good. i wish more games had fucking MASSIVE robots you can climb inside and hear incomprehensible sounds of communication and see blinking lights with random metal components strewn about, and architecture so hostile and irregular yet just navigable enough that you question if you were meant to even be here in the first place, or even if it was meant for some interloper like you to traverse.

got back from the store time to continue ryebreadedd hater hour Prefacing this with that anyone is allowed to have fun and i cant stop them from having fun and im not forcing anyone to do anything: ive said this before but i find the fandomization of rain world really jarring honestly. For a game as unique and complex and beautiful as rain world all i really see is fluffy cat shipping or something. at best it feels disingenuous to the game and at worst antithetical. Maybe its just cause im aro but the focus on shipping in a game that really had no place for it in its narrative is just bizarre to me. At times it feels like an unwillingness to engage with the dynamics and relationships already present in favor of romantic relationships. like at this point, this is just making furry ocs.

I think peoplel forget that rainworlds thing isn't just that You aren't the main character, its the fact that there is no main character. Iterators and are just another part of the world. They're not specially important in any way. The only reason you have the most information about Ancient society is that they were the ones writing things down. In this way I think it adds to the experience that almost nothing is ever elaborated on, a lot of details are missing etc. Nothing in this world has special importance aside from the importance that you assign to it.

I have the right to decline any commission that makes me uncomfortable or is something I don't feel like I can do justice.

I suffer from executive dysfunction so your comm may or may not take a while, But I am a generally fast artist and will get your request done as soon as I can. If your commission takes over 3 months I will try my best to refund you.

I was thinking about what features my pebble interpretation would have and I decided to do something more literal with the "both machine and organism". I'm thinking the puppet wouldn't have as hard of a time exiting the cycle if it was fully mechanical.

So anyway, "jello-coated" skeleton with blood and fuel tubes. This is not exactly what I imagined, it's more on the abstract side. But the pebble should be a little translucent.

Ok from what i gathered so far:

-devs do not support the zionists nor were capable of making the partnership decision

-official server modteam do not support the zionists and has nothing to do with any decision

-akupara and videocult did not know about the zionism the company bears until it was brought to their attention. They are currently working on rearrangements as we speak

-unfortunately this is further complicated by the fact that they were working on this collab since last year

-there is definite proof that the company are composed of zionists, as they made a post way back on their official social

update on the ludeo thingy; in regards to the rw discord server

The server staff would be very opened to know more about ludeo as far as I am aware via courier bot, even tho they may unable to be in direct contact with Akupara nor it's developer, but it may help in the littlest way possible

As far as I am received from their respond, they are not aware of Ludeo being associated with Israel/zionist company and they don't support it whatsoever. They also suggest to keep awareness on other social medias until further updates regarding it

Obviously the issue of ludeo being a zionist company is one that's important and how staff will approach the issue will be discussed internally; no one on our team is in support of zionism, and none of us want to be associated with publishers who support it. We only have so much power in this matter - to restate once more, we don't directly affect the development of the game or have direct lines of communication with Akupara as a whole. We can't allow discussions like this in the server as its a place members come to to relax and distract themselves from personal or real-world issues; most people just want to talk about their experiences with the game or other things they're up to etc. We strongly recommend raising awareness on any other platforms you can or in satellite servers, and we treat any other sensitive/political issue the same way. Courier is the best way to inform staff about situations like this so we can come to a decision; ludeo being zionist wasn't something we were aware of beforehand and we're willing to listen through Courier. We'll be discussing how to approach this and what resources we can give out later on when more staff are available.

rain world recently partnered with a very Zionist company, quietly announced it under the retweets of an art month announcement, and the moderators of the discord are actively muting those who speak up about it. just thought i’d let you all know.

edit: figured i’d add this. it seems the partnership with the company is not the fault of Videocult, but with Akupura, their publisher. i’d reccomend pressuring the publisher first and foremost due to their direct involvement. videocult was likely pressured (possibly financially?) to oblige with this descision. pull out the weed by the root.
