When the knock on the door was heard, it was a certain starry-eyed cookie that elected to answer. Everyone else was asleep anyway. It would only make sense the only one awake would answer the door.

When Meteor Burst Cookie floated to the door, she almost didn’t notice the letter slipped beneath the door. It was only when she landed and it crinkled underfoot did she look down and see it.

She jumped back a step to lean down and pick up the letter. No name, no return address... How strange! Still, she opened up the letter to see who it might be for.

The envelope held no details on who sent the message. How strange. How did this person know where to send this letter to?

....an old acquaintance, perhaps?

Anyways, the envelope did have a message, though it wouldn't exactly ease any suspicion on the shadiness of the sender.

"Chase me."

But below that line, there was another message, less ominous than the first.

"I'm searching for a friend, so if you'd like to talk with someone over some tea, head down the rose bush path."

Well, the letter was undeniably odd. No name, no return address, and handwriting Meteor Burst didn't recognize. Still, the message made her curious. Someone wanted to be chased? And they wanted to make friends? She knew this could end badly, but...

She carefully walked out the door and locked it behind her. Couldn't be too careful. She hopped down the front steps and made her way to the place the letter mentioned.

Fruit Tart was originally designed as a throwaway character to be in a relationship with Yogurt Cream! Eventually he took on a life of his own, and now he's the big scary teddy bear we all know and love.

Everyone, meet Meteor Burst Cookie!

A bit of stardust from a passing meteor had landed amongst discarded cookie crumbs, and when the crumbs were swept up, the stardust brought the crumbs together to create this beautiful cookie!

Little sparkling pieces always seem to be coming from her, forming what look like little shooting stars. If you can catch one, a wish will come true! Too bad they disappear so quick. You can always tell where Meteor Burst has been, because these tiny shooting stars always leave sparkles in her wake.

Fruit Tart had heard of different types of pranks, but hated most of them. So, he tried a classic with a bit of a spin. Instead of putting salt in Milk's coffee, he used sugar. Lots of sugar. "I... Made you coffee. Don't know if it's any good though." (@rainy-x-daydreams)

On the outside, it seemed like nothing was wrong. In Fruit Tart's head, however, his thoughts were all over the place. Would Milk laugh? He hoped so. He would hate to make the demon upset.

A certain winged cookie knocks on the front door. He seems slightly nervous, and he is hiding something behind his back. I wonder what it could be? (@rainy-x-daydreams) (spaghetti time)

Honey was the one to open the door, as the rest of the people in the house were busy unpacking. Once he saw the familiar face, he smiled and tilted his head curiously as he spoke.

“Hi Fruit Tart. I didn’t know you were coming over. Do you want me to get Fudge for you?” He popped a chocolate into his mouth from the bag of sweets he was carrying once he finished his sentence.

Fruit Tart was obviously nervous. He’d never been in this neighborhood before, and he knew there were people he’d never met in the house in front of him. The sight of Honey did ease his nerves a bit though. Still, he fiddled with the little box he held behind his back.

“Uh, yeah, this was not planned… If you could get your sister I’d… Um… Appreciate, it.”

Honey nodded, brushing some of his sticky hair out of his face. “You can come in if you want. I’ll go get her.”

With that, he spun on his heel and disappeared down one of the hallways. It only took a few minutes for the girl in question to appear from the same hallway. She seemed a bit tired from moving in, but she still kept her signature shy smile on her face.

“H-Hey Fruit Tart! What a surprise! What brings you over?” She silently cursed herself for stuttering, hoping to everything her face wasn’t as red as she thought it was.

Fruit Tart did step inside when Honey invited him in, and quietly closed the door behind him. He stood awkwardly near the door, not making a sound. He never was good with new places.

At the sight of Peanut Butter Fudge, Fruit Tart seemed to light up a little. He certainly didn’t look as nervous as he was before.

“Hello, Peanut Butter Fudge. I, uh… I wanted to, um, visit you and…”

He brought his hands forward to reveal a nicely wrapped box. It was wrapped in plain brown paper, but the bow was a nice red color.

“I uh, brought you a gift. Nothing special, just thought maybe you’d like it…”

“O-Oh! Thank you!”

She felt her face get redder as she took the box from his hands, her smile widening a bit.

“This is such a surprise, I uh, thank you again. This was really sweet of you to do.”

She bit her tongue before she could fumble over her words more and started to open the present.

Inside of the plain box sat a carefully made statuette of a bird taking flight. Each feather was carefully painted in vibrant pigment, making it seem almost real. The paint job wasn’t the only impressive thing about it, though. The wood work itself was marvelous! Every carved detail was done with care, and it was sturdy and solid and very well made.This must have taken a long time.

“I... found myself working on it, and didn’t feel like stopping. I thought that, maybe, you would like it... I’m running out space for them back at home...”
