Aeronte - high elf, fighter, chaotic-neutral. A mysterious adventurer. Looks more like a circus performer than a serious mercenary. But that impression can be deceiving. - Aeronte is a product of the Time of Troubles, when the gods took on flesh and were forced to walk among the ordinary citizens of Faerûn. One such god, Bhaal, foresaw his doom and made arrangements for his coming rebirth. The Lord of Murder descended to earth before the others and left behind a host of mortal descendants cursed to wreak havoc. They were not meant to be his successors, only fuel for his return.
Aeronte spent his childhood in the care of his foster father, once a monk from Candlekeep. He contributed well to the boy's education, but their relationship was strained. Aeronte felt no familial warmth, only detachment.
He knew little about his mother. She was an elven woman from the High Forest and a friend of the foster father for many years. It had been hinted to Aeronte more than once that he had caused her death. To those around him Aeronte seemed a bit of an oddball. Calm, cheerfulness could turn abruptly into gloomy musings or into conversations with himself. He reacted strangely to dying animals, especially birds. It seemed as if he was fascinated and delighted by it. And growing up, the boy meditated less and less often, as he saw constantly disturbing images.
By the age of 20 Aeronte had to leave home. The boy was hunted by a certain Sarevok. For what reason and what does this have to do with his murky past? Before he left, he managed to steal some closed letters from a foster father that spoke in scraps about the children of the dead god Bhaal, and Aeronte may be one of them. Which would prompt him to dive into an investigation about his origins.
On the run, he hid amongst itinerant performers, from whom he adopted theatrical skills. But these journeys ended quickly. It seemed that with the arrival of the elf everything collapses, and brings only misfortune.
(BG1) During his wanderings, Aeronte will encounter adventurer Abdel. Their stories will be suspiciously similar: a murky past, strange hints, and persecution. The elf has agreed to help Abdel with finding out information about Sarevok and his political intrigues. Maybe Aeronte will be lucky enough to get his revenge.
- Aeronte is fascinated by the aesthetics of death. Which is hard to admit openly. He justifies all killing by saying it's for a good cause. But somewhere inside, he loves it. - In meditation, he sees his distorted image (Slayer). Sometimes they communicate. - Aeronte theatrical skills help him hide his dark side in life. Can give the impression of a funny, hyperactive little boy. - Dates circus performer and part-time druid Lea.

The second reference for Aeronte is the Slayer Form. Spawn can, under certain conditions, transform into a unique creature, the Slayer, who is an echo of the divine avatar of Bhaal himself.
Aeronte will acquire the Slayer for the first time when he cannot control the power of his soul, having become too engrossed in exploring his inner darkness. Going forward, this feature will be used in extreme cases.
- Aeronte's Slayers characterised by wings instead of a second pair of arms. - Can perform short flights. Increased jumping range. - Aeronte finds it difficult to return to normal. He is in physical pain, feeling like his bones have been broken, his muscles torn. This is a tremendous strength and at the same time his vulnerability when trying to go back after transformation.
