EXO Kai's dark skin

I just had a conversation with a friend who is a Chinese EXO-L and talked about our biases. I said Kai is so sexy and that he is my bias, and her response rather shocked me. She does not like dark skinned people nor does she find them sexy.

I have heard of guesses out there that Kai might have a disadvantage in getting more fans somewhat due to his dark skin color, which I never believed … until I actually witnessed it. Since Kai is of the same race as everyone else in the group, it is not racist, but the colorism is something I find quite upsetting.

I am of course not just talking about China but it is true that in many East Asian countries, it seems to be a sin to have dark skin. Milky white skin is their obsession. As an Asian myself, I have thus made it my goal to defy that notion by tanning my skin extensively. Ha! :)

Seriously - I think dark skin should not be stigmatized or ridiculed and it is actually part of Kai’s unique sex appeal.
