I feel like the biggest mischaracterization I see of Steve Rogers is that he is this rule following conservative guy. Like no, did we watch the same movies? This man breaks every rule he can. He hates the government. He also is not a bigot at all. He has his own moral code and does everything based on it.

Steve: *illegally registers for the army more times than anyone can count because he wanted to help his country*

Steve: *breaks several laws in order to uncover the government's corrupt secrets and stop the dictatorship before it happened*

Steve: *commits treason to keep the world safe*

STEVE FIGHTS FOR WHAT HE THINKS IS MORALLY RIGHT NOT SOME STUPID SET OF LAWS DESIGNED TO BENEFIT THE GOVERNMENT

HE DOESN'T LIKE BULLIES

in his eyes, if the law stops him from doing the right thing, then the law is wrong

You know what gets me? That smile when Bucky says “Steve”. It’s almost like he thinks he’s dying, or already dead, and this is the last thing he sees: His friend, healthy and strong. He’s happy, but it doesn’t look like he believes Steve is real at first.

what if natasha brought tony to the smithsonian and tony was like “nat i really don’t need to see an exhibit on america’s ex golden boy, current fugitive, thanks” and nats like “tony, for once, just shut up and look.” and she takes him to that wall with the videos of steve and bucky and it gets to the iconic smiling and laughing together clip and nat just goes “you ever seen him that happy? i know i haven’t.“ and tony’s like “no, that guy isn’t anything like the quiet and brooding cap i know” and nats like “because that’s not the cap you know. that’s steve. how could you expect him to pick anyone but bucky when none of us make him look like that?”
