Sakazuki insists on being there with his partner for the delivery. He won’t be the type of father who will stand there with a camera and film the whole ordeal, no. Neither him nor his partner want a video of his partner screaming their lungs out in pain. He is the type of father who will stand next to his partner’s bed in silence, holding their hand, not minding if they squeeze too tightly. He’s a strong man, he can handle it.
He won’t utter any words of encouragement to his partner during their delivery not will he remove sweaty strands of hair out of his partner’s face. He is just there, giving them comfort just with his presence. He will also have a close eye on the doctor, ready to scold them if they hurt his partner. When his baby is delivered and his partner is holding it in their arms for the first time he feels the pressure slowly leave his body as he watches them both. The baby is crying which is a good sign. But he never doubted his baby will be a fighter in the first place.
Up until this point he is happy but rather distant with the whole situation. But once his partner asks him if he wants to hold the baby too and this little human being, so small in his hand – I wouldn’t say his heart melts but he feels an extreme rush of proudness pulse through his body and his usually stern expression will soften just the tiniest bit, not noticeable to anyone who doesn’t know him well enough.

He Immedeatly falls in love with his baby and a small smile is on his face, forgetting everything around him for a moment.
Unconsciously, he walks over to his partner who is already waiting to take the baby as well and he will give it to them as if he was in trance, completely mesmerized by this small bundle of joy and crouch down next to the bed, stroking his baby’s face gently. “What a perfect little baby we have.”

He is the most relaxed out of the three. He will hold his partner’s hand and talk to them, maybe even cracking some jokes, annoying his partner to no end. But it helps. They’re more focused on his stupid jokes/ things he has to say that the pain is shoved to the back of their mind, still present but not as bad as it could be.
Borsalino was probably the one to suggest taking a video but his partner will be strictly against it. When his baby is delivered he will let his partner go first, just watching the both of them be happy together, smiling to himself to see them happy. He watches his baby cry, giggle, fall asleep – all in the matter of minutes. When his partner is ready he will take the baby from them to give them some rest, holding it in his arms and smiling lovingly.
“Whew, I’m glad he/she/they doesn’t look like me and more like you.” He will joke but it sounds a little half-heartedly, too occupied to just be amazed by his little baby. To say he is in love would be an understatement. Before the delivery he couldn’t really wrap his head around becoming a father completely. It was all a distant thing. But now, holding his child in his arms, being mesmerized at the small hands, the small head, small feet, small everything, he knows – he will spoil the living shit out of it. He is beyond heartbroken by the loss of his S/O and it takes him a while until he can try to get himself into daddy mode but once he does, he doesn’t leave his child alone for a second and if the baby starts crying…he immediately is there to see to them. He takes the baby to work and has a baby sitter there when he needs to get work done. The admirals and vice admirals are very supportive and often come to see the baby or bring him things he would need since he doesn’t know much about children. When the baby is finally asleep, he would sit on his porch, looking at his garden as he’d reminisce about how his S/O and him met…got married and had so many hopes and dreams for their child and he’d have to carry out on his own now.

It is completely devastating to him, he can’t even look at his kid that he ends up leaving them with his in laws until the admirals force him to get it together and go see his child. When he does, he realizes his child looks just like his S/O and he bursts out into tears…everything he had been holding in finally coming to the surface. From then, he starts taking care of his child by himself and making sure they have everything of the best. He couldn’t imagine spending a day where he doesn’t get to see their sweet face.

He is hurt deeply by the loss of his child but he is present with his child at all times. He needs some help with understanding how to care for his child and employs a helper. Once he gets the hang of it, he is very involved. He tends to reminisce about his S/O and this makes him tear up but then his child always finds a way to cheer him up.

He is hurt by it all but doesn’t show any emotion at all, he has Daz helping him to care for the child and he starts to get more involved day by day. However, when he does start to process everything…he can’t control his tears and his emotions. He couldn’t believe this was happening, he was so happy for the first time in his life with his S/O and they were to have a child…but it was so unexpected to lose his S/O during childbirth he thought everything was going well but such is life.
