it's depresssing and very frustrating that dean was ultimately silenced till the very end and i also think that's probably why sometimes there's a tendency to make cas' confession a bit too much about dean (when cas himself already makes it all about dean lol) but it makes me wanna be like well No that was cas' big moment!! he's always been one of the angels who felt "too much" again and again, and now he finally got to fully develop these feelings and this very special connection to someone, broke free from naomi's control when she tried to mess with it, and finally arrived at this moment where he gets to just speak his truth and nobody is trying to mess with his brain or trying to "reset" him and he can fully allow this intense emotion to take over and let it all out!! idk i sound like such a sentimental blob lmao but that's what destiel does to you damn

I always forget 'The End' is literally s5e4. Like Cas had literally only been in one season at that point and they decided the best course of action for his character was to establish that he would follow Dean for the rest of his life even if it meant slowly depleating himself into something unrecognizable from the angel who originally dedicated himself to Dean in the first place.
