Unlocking new animal symbolism: Red‑crowned Crane / Flamingo

Partial symbolic meanings:

The red‑crowned crane is monogamous, with a pair staying together for life, which is why in Korea it is seen as a symbol of faithful love.

In the 2011 drama Secret Garden, when Kim Joo‑won (TOP's character in the parody) has G‑Rim (G‑Dragon's character) on his mind, the lines he recites include "the turtle and the red‑crowned crane." One part shows G‑Rim and Kim Joo‑won walking side by side, and another is a monologue.

This reference comes from a Korean joke/skit.

Background of the tongue twister:

This is actually a famous skit by Korean comedian Gu Bong-seo, titled "Kim Su-han-mu".

The story goes: a family had a son, and they cherished him so much that they wanted to give him a name that would ensure he lived a long life.

They went to a temple and asked a monk to name him, insisting the name must represent talent, a long life of a hundred years, and all kinds of virtues.

The monk, annoyed by their demands, rattled off this long, nonsensical string of words.

The ridiculous part is that the child was actually given that entire name. Every time someone in the village met his family and asked about the child, they had to recite this whole long string.

One day, someone suddenly ran to his mother and said:

"Your Kim Su-han-mu Turtle Red-crowned Crane Three Thousand Years Eastern Legend... Ddal-ri is in trouble!"

"My Kim Su-han-mu..."

In this video, Choi repeatedly deletes and reposts. Fans comment asking if he's drunk. He denies it and says he's just shy, then posts the video again and deletes it once more.

Flamingo symbolism — love and intimacy:

A flamingo's neck naturally curves into a shape resembling a "heart," conveying romantic affection and a close bond between partners. Flamingos are typically monogamous, symbolizing loyalty and devotion in love.

So that's part of a larger piece that you can only see without his shirt on hahaha. There are three parts that spell out 'TO' 'GET' 'HER' when all lined up (aka when his arms are pinned behind his back... wait who said that)

I do agree, however, that it's weird the 'TO' part of the word has the line underneath it when the other two sections don't. Almost as if there's a third letter waiting to be filled in...

Hahaha not Jiyong catching strays from you! No but I completely agree, there's a marked difference between his G-Dragon voice that he uses around his fans and his Kwon Jiyong voice that we hear him used around his friends and loved ones. I do believe his voice is a little deeper and huskier than it used to be, just because age, constant vocal strain and smoking so so many cigarettes a day will do that to you, but I also believe that he plays it up when he's in G-Dragon mode hahaha.

We absolutely love Tabi with our whole hearts, and so do his brothers and husband! I would looooove to see him on Zip Daesung, that dream is so cute and I'd die for that to come true. I don't see it happening, sadly, only because it seems like they're still all keeping a relative distance from each other, but that barrier is getting thinner and thinner by the day. Maybe we'll just watch this space and see what the rest of BigBang/TOP year has in store for us ☺️
