My favourite part about ‘What remains of Edith Finch’ is that we don’t know if a lot of the deaths are real
When Edith enters Edies room we learn about Sven’s death. He died building a dragon slide but Edie told everyone that a dragon killed him. This shows us that Edie loves to turn the deaths into fantasies instead of telling the truth
The only deaths we know for sure are what happened is Calvin (Sam’s note), Sam (the photos), Gregory (the divorce papers), Gus (Dawns poem), Lewis (his psychiatrist letter), Dawn (after leaving the house), and Edith herself
The rest are told from the person themselves. Edie could have easily faked those personal letters/notes.
This beautiful game has fascinated me since I first played it early last year
