His death. It was heart-breaking and soul-crushing. It was the first time she felt lost. It was the first time she'd ever cry. The first time she felt like everything had already ended. Her breaths were ragged as she tried to keep her composure, her eyes darted around the room as she stood before his bloody corpse. She grabbed her face, letting her fingers run over her hair out of stress and fear... and anger. No. Grief. What was this feeling? Why did it hurt her chest so much? How could she let this happen? How... How.... How?!

Her fingers tangled around her hair while tears threatened to run down her cheeks. She fell to her knees and bowed down in front of his laying carcass. Her mouth fell open, trying to scream yet no sound came out of her lips. Then, the tears came down her face. She grabbed her hair, tugging on it while she blamed herself for this. Abby kept repeating how stupid she was. How careless. How... blind. She could've prevented this from happening. But, it was too late. Everything was too late. Then, as she raised her head with her face now covered with her grieving her sorrow. Her attention was now towards a whimpering Shanaya. Oh. His little sister. Shanaya was sobbing, and cradling herself with her paws over her ears while she was under the kitchen table.

Abby stood up from her knees, slowly going over to the crying teen. "... Sha-Shanaya?" She softly called out to her as she crouched down to Shanaya's level. The pup sniffled and peeked one eye open to Abby's direction. Suddenly, her tail was wagging as she realized who it was. She pounced onto Abby, tackling her to the ground, then she continued balling her eyes out. Abby didn't move and only laid there on the floor, holding onto Shanaya on her chest. Abby hugged her tight and began crying with her.

Rain continues to pour down from the skies and onto the roofs, making soft pitter-patters as the fire, inside of the humble abode, crackles and burn brightly. Small bits of ash fly inside the fireplace and up the chimney while a mother gently caresses her only child.

Beside the wholesome sight, laid bodies, some decapitated while others were sliced into pieces.

"Mother will always protect you..." The woman softly coos at her son who was unconcsious. "All the bad men are gone..." She continues whispering lovingly as tears began to from around ther corners of her eyes.

"Just sleep now... My child..." She says as the tears began to roll down her cheeks, her bloodied hands over her son's chest, feeling his heartbeat slowly grow faint and fainter.
