Maeklong Railway Market Experience
This was included in our Thailand Floating Markets Tour purchased in Klook. I paid 4,785 in Philippine Peso for three people (please do the math for individual price). It was a sunny, Saturday day. Our tour bus drop us off at Maeklong station and our tour guide instructed us to meet in the end of the mentioned station.
This is the starting point. We walked through this railway. There’s a restaurant, coffee shop, juice shop, souvenir shop, and etc. I recommend you to buy here for they have a good price point rather than at the Floating Market which is expensive.
TIP: You can ask for 30-50% discount on souvenirs, clothes, and other stuff but DO NOT BARGAIN FOR FOOD. That was the advice of our tour guide.
I think were in the middle part already. I am not sure if I remember it correctly, the Railway Market is about 300 meters (please correct me if am wrong). Anyway, I suggest you to try Durian fruit, Mangosteen, and BJ (Buko Juice).
Durian: 70 Baht
Mangosteen: 50 Baht
Buko juice: 15 Baht
They started to move their products once there was an announcement of an incoming train.
Here comes the train! Yup, all of us are holding our mobile phones to capture this moment.
After the train passed by, the vendors returned their products.
Thoughts : I am thankful that I got an opportunity to experienced something that I have never tried before. I will definitely do it again if I will get a chance.
