Hello! I'd like to request a fluffy oneshot for GN!Reader/Yuu ร Idia Shroud where the two of them have been dating for a few months now, but something comes up to the point that Yuu is now very mad at Idia and starts ignoring him. Idia's really shocked because he hadn't expected a grumpy personality to come from someone so sweet โ so he starts practically begging them for forgiveness. It takes a while because Yuu's really bothered by him, but eventually, they fold and forgive him ๐ฝ.
โญโโฆโฅ โข You've been invited by Gloomurai, accept?
ใปโฅ Pairing: Idia Shroud ร Yuu!Reader
ใปโฅ Content warning: the big three of relationship issues: miscommunication (kinda), silent treatment and one-sided effort (or feelings of it anyway), mild angst(?) With comfort/happy ending! Idia Is probably ooc sorry, cringe and spelling mistakes probably
ใปโฅ Author's note: I really liked this.. im an idia hater I swear...!! Also very sorry for the delay โน
You liked Idia, you really did- hell, you were confident enough to say you really did love him. In the few months you guys had been an official couple, having been suspiciously close friends for even longer before this, you had grown really fond of him and his ways.
Most of his ways at least.
The thing was, Idia despite his attempts to be sweet, was still flawed at the end of the day.
The overly sympathetic part of you wanted to cut him some slack.. but it had been months of this now, with little improvement. To Idia, letting you into his safe haven and hanging out with you, y'know, in person, was peak romance. He doesn't do that with just anybody! You're special. And you understood that. But like.. that's it, he made no other attempts at showing you affection other than letting you give him a smoocheroo or cuddle him.
You'd try gently proving and hinting you wanted to do other things as a couple but...
"Ha? A date outside? Hell nah" He'd say, or at least something to that effect whenever you even suggested it. He didn't even think about it, not even for a second- continuing to smash away at the controller, the screen displaying "YOU WIN" for the nth time in a row from whatever game he was playing this time. You understood he couldn't go out, you just wished he was a little nicer about shutting you down.
You would routinely come over after class. You enjoyed your dates together, that wasn't for debate, it was just... they felt more like hang outs between casual friends than romantic dates, and sometimes it felt more like he was tolerating your presence. Always within his range of comfort. You knew that was just how he was, blunt and recluse, he didn't mean to be mean with how sometimes he'd snap at you, or say something too unfiltered. But it still made you feel bad and it was getting a little frustrating, scratch that, really frustrating. It felt like you were the only one really putting any effort in.
Today, Crowley had dumped the task of overseeing one of the many school events coming up onto you which meant what little time you got to sit down and breathe would be fragmented even further, Grim had earned you a scolding by messing up one of your experiments during Professor Crewel's lesson and you had tripped down the last few stairs in a rush to get to lesson. It was as though this twisted world was deliberately trying to break you down. You'd innocently thought that your boyfriend would see the exhaustion on your face and show you that at least someone cared that you were tired and overworked.
You'd clearly overestimated him.
You both sat on the floor beside his bed, beside each other. His eyes practically glued to the screen, if it weren't for the fact he had handed you a controller you wouldn't have even known he acknowledged your presence. Moments later you heard the victory music playing, some new game update that he'd been waiting on or something that he wanted to play with you. You didn't bother listening to him ramble this time. Nothing new, this is how most of your time together was, in front of a screen either playing a game and watching something.
Usually it was nice, a break from being Crowley's little helper or Grim's henchman, playing with him or listening to him whisper random bits of lore to you when watching whatever anime was currently on his rotation whilst sat on his bed together, usually you would listen and indulge him. Today was not one of those days, you just didn't have the energy.
"Heh, too eez" He snickered to himself, fingers moving across the controller at light speed as he completed another raid, you were there too. Except unlike every other day you weren't even trying, just there, both in game and in person. He was doing all the work, not that it was hard for him to complete a raid all on his own.
"Didn't you say you had a game like this back in your world? Thought you'd be better at this LOL, try harder this next round-" You hadn't said anything since entering his room, had he really not noticed that you were upset..? There was a chance he had and was ignoring it, neither thought made you feel better. He literally just handed you a controller and started playing with you, you hadn't even done anything except follow him around in game.
Placing down the controller, you stood up. Now that caught him off guard, he looked up at you before looking back at the loading screen then back at you, clearly very confused. "Huh-? What's wrong? We're about to start our fourth round-"ย
"I think it's better if I go back to Ramshackle" You didn't even turn to look at him. He winced at your tone, you sounded mad. Clearly he had made an error somewhere. He put the controller down and awkwardly got up to linger behind you as you knelt down to slip your shoes back on.
"D-did I say something..? I was focused on the game-" He stammered, clearly caught off guard at your sudden
"I've been upset since the moment I walked in and you didn't even notice- you just handed me a controller and didn't even- it's.. whatever, Grim probably needs me or something" And with that, you left.
Idia stood dumbfounded as you promptly shut the door on him. He'd never seen you anything but jolly, okay there were times where you were sad or irritated- but angry? This was a first, and he was very much at a loss.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Idia was beside himself. It had been days now, you wouldn't speak to him. He'd royally messed up and there was no restart button for him to press.
Ragequitting games he could easily complete, no longer interested in his weekly rewatch of his favourite horse girl anime, he was just moping around about how much of an idiot he was for not doing more when you were upset. He thought you'd like to be distracted! He didn't know how to approach you so he thought a game would help! That maybe playing a game would take your mind off whatever was bothering you.. He always logs onto his favourite game or switches on his favourite band whenever he's mad and-
Emotions were so complicated, relationships were so complicated.. he groaned into his pillow.
He felt really bad, really, really bad. He'd never been ignored by you before- you've huffed and bickered before. But this time you were actually mad, and he didn't know what to do. You were always so jolly, it was almost uncanny to see you this upset. Part of him wanted to be embarrassed to be this emotional over some relationship, but you were different... you weren't just some normie friend or one of his favourite characters with cool design.
You were just so.. you and he really, really liked you. The idea of you getting sick of him made him feel even worse. He groaned into his pillow again.ย
Ortho stood in front of his brother's bed, concern etched into the metal of his features- The fact he hadn't even bothered with any of his games or shows, and the fact you hadn't come over in days made him worry.
"Big bro?" Ortho approached the easy sheets Idia was currently cocooned in. Lifting up the blanket ever so lightly to peek at the brooding boy beneath.
"I messed up big time Ortho.. I dunno what to do.." Idia didn't meet his brother's eyes. Ortho was far from stupid, he had a feeling he knew what was wrong. Whatever it was, he wanted to see you and his brother happy again.
"What happened? Did you say something that the Prefect misunderstood?" The robo-boy tilted his head at his brother.
"No.. i-..." With a heavy sigh Idia finally looked up at his brother, guilty all over his features. "They think I don't care about them- and now they won't talk to me, I dunno what to do... I really don't wanna lose 'em" He was embarrassed hearing himself speak, but it was true, the idea of letting someone into his haven just for them to finally get sick of him. The thought made him unbearably upset.
Ortho stared, clearly in thought for a moment, patting his brother's head the boy sighed. "I will speak to the Prefect, they like you just as much as you like them- I'm sure this can be dealt with and moved past"
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
It had been two weeks by now. And you hadn't gone to visit Idia once let alone speak with him.
He tried to talk to you, he'd send invites for you to join him on games which would go ignored, sent you a dozen or so messages which were also ignored, Ortho trying to invite you over which you would try to skillfully decline and even having snacks delivered to Ramshackle which were usually stolen by Grim but you didn't really care. It didn't make you feel any better, though you couldn't help but feel guilty for making poor Ortho worry, you could tell he was worried about his brother.
"Whatever Idia did or said, I promise he didn't intend to hurt your feelings!" Ortho had managed to corner you in an empty hall after class, Grim had scurried away in a hurry, leaving with Ace and Deuce for lunch. He clasped your hands in his, the metal cold against your skin. "Please just speak with him, Prefect! He's really upset, just speak with him so he can understand where he made his error-"
You couldn't look at the boy, avoiding eye contact as he stared at you with furrowed brows. You didn't really know how to explain all the issues you had up until this point- especially to your boyfriend's younger brother, that'd just be weird. "He just... I just need some space, i know it's mean to ignore him but.. it's not really something he did-" It's what he doesn't do, but you couldn't exactly say that.
Your words seemed to make Ortho pause, he'd been trying to gently prod and see what was bothering you. You were clearly still mad, he could tell by the spike in your heart rate and increase in blood pressure when he mentioned Idia's name.
"I see.." Ortho didn't let go of your hands just yet, seeming to process your words carefully. He cares for his brother, but that didn't mean he'd ignore how you felt. "I don't like seeing Idia this upset, nor do I like seeing you frustrated..ย Just promise me you'll speak to him"
With a sigh, you nodded. But that wasn't enough for the boy in front of you.
"Pinky promise?" He let go of your hands, now holding out his own with his metal pinky extended. You couldn't help but smile, reaching out and locking your pinky with his. "Pinky promise"

Grim had been tucked in for the night, his snoring muffled as you gently closed the door to your shared bedroom.
You couldn't sleep, nothing new, you had always been the restless type. Which had made staying up late for movie marathons and late nights gaming with Idia so much easier- but you tried not to think about those moments, you were still mad.
You crept your way down to the common room. You had long gotten comfortable with the dim halls and eerie silence of Ramshackle. Plopping yourself down onto the sofa with a squeal of the cushion springs, you grabbed the controller from the console Idia had gifted you some time ago.
You logged back on. Wincing at the sudden beam of bright light assaulting your eyes.
Unsurprisingly, Idia was online and he had sent you another request.
You've been invited by Gl00murai.exe to play 'Im sorry plz join', do you accept this invite?
Well this was new. His previous invites had all been of games you mentioned liking. You recalled your promise to Ortho, so you pressed accept.
You were quickly generated into a new world. As the world loads in you find your avatar stood in a.. virtual cafรฉ? Upon closer inspection, it was a cat cafe! The same one you had tried to get him to go to with you on a date, it looked just like the photos you had showed him online when trying to convince him to spend time with you outside his room, all the cats you had shown him on the catalogue were there, roaming around, everything was so detailed. You saw Idiaโs avatar stood just a few feet away from yours, all those dark colours stuck out like a sore thumb in such a cutesy setting.
A message popped up in chat.
I tried to order you those pancakes you wanted to try from the Cat Cafรฉ you wanted to go to but I saw it was closed for renovations. So I created an interactive 3D model of the place 4 u.ย
Gl00murai.exe is typing...
He was typing, you took a moment to turn your perspective in game to look around the virtual Cafรฉ. It was all so detailed, the wallpaper looked just like photos with all the same plants and decor, the virtual cats were so cute with each having their own mechanics, one loafing, another at the cat scratcher- it was all so animated, how long did this take to make?
I'm really sorry if I made you feel like I didn't care.
You stared at the screen, he was apologising finally, so he knew what he did wrong. You knew this was his own way of saying sorry, meaning the game, the time and effort it must've taken him- but.. you couldn't let go of the frustration that easily.
I don't forgive you. You're going to have to do a lot more than just make a game if you actually want to show me you care.
His avatar stood still for a moment. Sure, the game thing was nice but it'd take a lot more to actually make you feel better.
Eventually another message popped up on the chat.
I get it. Ur one of my favourite people and you make me really happy, I don't want to lose u. Plz just let me try and fix my mistakes, ur important to me.
Omg this is so corny I'm sorry
That, you couldn't be too mad at that. He was trying. You let out a soft sigh, you had been grumpily brooding to yourself for two whole weeks.. you figured you couldn't be mad at him for trying even if it wasn't what you needed to forgive him.
You better make it up to me. And the improvements better be permanent
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
You weren't ignoring him as heavily anymore. Actually replying to his messages, sometimes accepting his game invites and staying up late into the night playing together like before- but you still hadn't gone back to his dorm. You were still mad.
Once again, you found yourself creeping down the rickety stairs of Ramshackle with left Grim snoring in your shared bedroom. Once you reached downstairs you made your way to your sofa, the springs squeaking under your weight, you turn on your console and
-Huh? Idia's not online, you frowned. Whatever, he's maybe sleeping for once or doing something else..
A knock on the door. At this hour? Is your first thought, who the hell is walking around the Night Raven Campus at this time? Let alone coming to Ramshackle, if they were trying to rob you they were better off heading for Crowley's office but that was beside the point.
Putting the console down, you stood up and crept towards the door, you really needed to harass Crowley about getting you a peep hole to make sure whoever was at the door wasn't trying to kill you. You heard some familiar voices mumbling on the other side, you opened the door and much to your surprise, you see Idia with Ortho right beside him.
"Surprise!" Ortho whisper-cheers, you blink a few times as you looked between the two wearing their pajamas, seemingly reading your mind Ortho adds quickly, "Instead of having to come to our dorm all the time, we came to yours!"
Idia, who to be quite frank looked like he was in between wanting to throw up and melt, held up a pink box towards you with his signature blue hair pink at the tips, he managed to force out a coherent sentence.ย "I brought you cake... uh, from that one Cafรฉ you wanted to go to.. uh, two actually, your favourite flavour.."
You stared at him for a second, he must've really tried to deal with his anxiety and feelings to come all this way for you, with cake, in the exact flavour you wanted to try.. in his PJs.. yeah, you couldn't be mad.ย
With a squeal you yanked him in by the arm, Ortho happily following along. Idia, now in the confines of four walls, no longer in the wild, let out a heavy sigh of relief as he set the cake box down with what little force he had left in him. Seeing your screen on with a game ready to be played seemed to make him lighten up, Ortho immediately flew to the kitchen to go grab some utensils so you didn't have to claw your way through the cakes you got like some fiend.
That left you alone with Idia, he looked at you, you looked at him.
"Oh, c'mere you!" You couldn't help but break into a big fat grin, stretching out your arms and enveloping him into a big 'ol hug. Giving him a big squeeze, with only a little effort lifting him off the ground and swaying slightly which earned you a gurgled scream from Idia.
"Down-! Put me down-!!" Which you did, mumbling something about being sorry for ignoring him. Just in time, Ortho came floating back in with some clean utensils looking mildly bewildered as to why his brother looks even more like he's about to melt into the floor. The boy seemed to light up, noting his brother's pink-tipped hair and your big smile. "Ah! Have you two made up?"
"Mhm!" You nodded, interlocking your arm with Idia's and gave it a squeeze before tugging him along to the couch, which he promptly flopped onto. Going all this was clearly exhausted him in every sense, you felt slightly guilty he went all this way for you.
He accepted the controller from you with a grin forming on his face, you sat down beside him and interlinked your arms together. You were going to finish that game from before. You were going to catch up on all those late nights that you lost, with cake!
