My conversation today with an acquaintance:

Acquaintance: Why do you even care about trans rights if you aren’t trans?

Me: Is red part of the rainbow if I’m not red?

Acquaintance: Of course it is! Red has always been a part of the rainbow!!!

Me: Are transgender people, people who deserve the same rights as we have, even if they aren’t us?

Acquaintance: Um... Yeah. People are people, no matter what.

Me: Exactly. People are people even if we are different then them. I care about their rights because they should be treated the same way I am, even if we are different.

Acquaintance: Nice. So, you want to get some pizza?

I fight for others rights because mine have already been granted to me. Just because I am being treated fairly doesn’t mean that other people are.

I just realized recently why I was so sad when my crush said no. I felt so dependent on them to help me out, so that I wouldn’t feel alone. The thing is though, is that even if we did end up together, I would still feel alone. They wouldn’t be there with me every second of everyday. That’s impossible! So I have come to realize that I am fine with being alone, it provides me with a chance to find myself and to become whatever I want to be.

I find it kinda odd that, as the human race, we are constantly and consistently demanding approval of other humans for what we say, wear, do, and even think. Why do I want someone, that I don’t even know, to think that I am a good person? Or that I have good style? Or that I know common politeness? Why does it even matter what they think of me? I feel like the approval that I give myself, to do whatever I do, should be enough. That I shouldn’t have to want other people to choose if I am a good person or not.

I was just thinking, what happens if a transgender person went missing? I know that they should be put under file as the gender that they say that they are, but if their birth certificate said the opposite then there might be a legal problem with putting the gender that they say they are for the case. It could get the officers in trouble for miskeeping the files and could even get them fired. I’m not sure what to do about this, just putting it out in the world.

Today I was buying cat food with my little brother and I accidentally walked down the dog food isle and my little brother asked me, “Why are we going down this isle? We don’t have a dog.” And I told him, “Its for the dog I keep hidden in my room. Why else would I keep my door closed all the time?” And to that he replied, “Because you hate people.” That is the realist thing that he has ever said to me. I do keep my door closed because I hate it when my family just walks in my room without knocking. I have come to realize that I do hate people.
