I've always wanted to have a blog, but i've been scuuurrrreeeedd. I've always been a lurker, never really commented that much on things, but I've always felt like i've had a lot to say. So..... now i'm putting it out there. Coming out of my shell, enter Rants and Sparkles.

If there's anything I know about myself - its that i'm opinionated. Unfortunately, I'm also painfully shy irl, so i'm going to use this space to voice my opinions. Another thing I know for sure? I love pretty things. Like girly, pink, sparkly things. So why not mix them up? My opinons and pretty pictures. I guess thats just what I feel like doing right now.

I'm calling it now - prepare yourselves to wait another year for Dune 2 and Challengers.

There is no way Dune 2 or Challengers are actually coming out in Spring 2024. I think they'll both be pushed again into Summer or Fall 2024 so that they'll have better awards season chances. Oscar bait movies never get spring releases on purpose. Ever. Sorry they just don't 🤷🏽‍♀️ The spring releases that do end up getting Oscar pushes are always unplanned hits and are total surprises (ex. Everything everywhere) . Both studios have bigger plans for both these movies than a hoo hum spring release.

I'm so bummed though. Literally my two most anticipated movies of this year and I won't get to see either of them bc people have the audacity to want to be paid and treated fairly for their work 🙄 . Honestly fuck the studios this is so dumb ! PAY THE WRITERS AND ACTORS WHAT THEY DESERVE!!!!!!!

I think there is a LOT more excitement for Dune part two than I had anticipated. When I went to go see GOTG V. 3 there were people whooping and cheering when the trailer began and ended 🤯 Was not expecting that.

Also its been only 4 days and the trailer has over 20 million views?! This is going to be a huge movie

When you’re apparently the only one that didn’t love the Dune part 2 trailer

I think this is a classic case of hyping something up way too much in my head. I was soooooooooo freaking excited to see this trailer. I thought I would be so hyped, have chills, racing heart, or be really mad, like SOMETHING. But it didn’t make me feel anything. It ended and I was just like “hmm”

But most of the internet seems to like it so glad its just me. I want this movie to do well for Timmy and Z’s sake

I will say , some of the shots look stunning though. Greg wasn’t messing around

more trailer thoughts : I don’t care about the worm stuff, sorry I just don’t. I really wanted to see more of the spice superpower tripping balls in the desert stuff. The weird generations of adults in the body of a toddler stuff, the stinky sietch, ect. Ugh maybe next trailer will have some of these things. fingers crossed. And as much as I LOVE Florence Pugh I really can’t stand Irulan so I don’t really care about seeing her.

I think this is true bc GOTG3 comes out Wednesday in the UK, and if WB plans on releasing the trailer with that movie it would have to come out online Wed morning.
