Yesterday was the memorial of a wonderful human being; one whom the moment you met them you thought, ‘this one is special’. Though I did not know him long, today I am overwhelmed with grief for his passing and grief for all those who loved him, who are feeling his loss even more deeply than me. It was incredibly moving to see the amount of love and people there for José yesterday. I am so grateful to each person who held me as I wept. My beloved friends, your gentle kindness and love does not go unappreciated. I created this work today to manifest my sorrow through my art.
