andrew would probably take someone on a date to an amusement park and then scream louder than them on the rollercoasters. he'd buy the dorky things of cotton candy and then the hand holding would be sticky but he'd still holD HANDS
"You've fought the fight, Andrew." A hand, settling on the man's shoulder to draw him away. "Give it a rest."
Andrew looked down at his bloodied knuckles, his torn shirt and scuffled shoes, and shook his head. He felt his shoulders slump, his knees grow watery, his hands pendulum slowly at his side; the fight had left him with weak joints, a dire need for sleep.
"How many more fight's do you think there'll be, Isaiah?" He asked, turning to his friend, wiping absentmindedly at the congealing blood that had peppered his face. "I'm tired," he confessed, voice breaking. "I'm so goddamn tired of this war."
Folks'll die for their beliefs.

♡ - romantic headcanon
When Andrew is in love with someone, or at least getting there, he leaves them little gifts here and there: flowers, notes, or small little sketches. He likes for people he's romantically involved with to know that he loves them, and that he's there for them no matter what.

He was damn near fuming when he found out about what his sister had done, who she’d been consulting with - but mostly Lin was worried. Worried that she was hurt. Worried that he was the one who pushed her away in the first place. Because now Meilin Ruan was knee deep in a worker’s revolution and there was nothing he could do about it except try and find her and bring her home. Except now it was nearly 1AM and he was nowhere close to finding the girl. Honestly, this should not have come as a surprise. Lin was unfamiliar with Atlas’ territory, and didn’t know where to look. So he just wandered. There was one section of the Pauper’s Drop covered in yellow posters - usually a warning sign, but now it was what he looked for. Without thinking he wandered in, turning to a tall young man who seemed to be in charge. "Have you seen a girl around here?" He asked quickly. "Black straight hair, wears jeans, about-" he held his hand up around his shoulders. "This height?"
Andrew spent most of his time nowadays wandering around Rapture; he still caught what splicers he could, conducted his research, but he could feel himself fraying at the edges. His thoughts weren't as clear. He lost time now--hours and hours of it. He'd come back to himself, startled out of something just on the edge of dozing, and his bones would be aching--and he couldn't stop it.
He was standing in Atlas territory, he knew that much, leaned up against a wall and trying not to look tired or defenseless, when a young man walked in.
Andrew had to stop himself from jumping, hand slowly sliding over to grip the end of his pipe in case he needed it. The man didn't seem dangerous; just worried, rushed.
"No, I haven't," he replied, voice gruff. He cleared his throat, stood up, and shook his head as if that would dispel the cobwebs from his train of thought. "Who are you?"

Backed into a Corner
”Oh dear, another visitor~”
Footsteps crushed dead leaves and circled Andrew, but the sounds indicated that there was more than one set of shoes involved.
"You look terrible. Can I help you with something?" The offer was in a tone that feigned concern and kindness—trusting Owen was like a game of Russian Roulette. "… Wait a moment." There was soft, amused laughter, "My birdies told me about you; aren’t you Isaiah’s dear friend?"
A figure abruptly lunged from the bushes and grabbed for Andrew’s pipe, but it wasn’t Owen. He was snarling, aggressive, and strong in the way he tried to grip the intruder’s wrist and his weapon; he wanted to relieve him of it by any means necessary.
"Do us all a favor and kindly relinquish that old thing, please." Owen encouraged Andrew to drop his weapon with casually imposing words and he hadn’t so much as shown himself yet.
Perhaps if Andrew had gotten enough sleep the past week he'd have been prepared for the attack; as it was, however, his brain was running on bare minimum, and he had just begun to process the man's words when the figure leapt out at him.
He tried to wrestle the pipe from the shadow's grasp, cursing and twisting and trying desperately to gain the upper hand. He knew it was a battle he'd already lost though; he was too tired, too weak.
The figure, a splicer, punched him in the stomach--doubling him over and finally wrenching the pipe from his hands.
"Who the fuck are you?" He growled, voice still strained from the punch. He wasn't sure if he was addressing the bodiless voice or the figure in front of him. He swayed on his feet, fists clenched at his sides.

“I will kill you slowly, agonizingly, until you’re begging for me to end it," Andrew snarled, one hand pulling the man's head back until he could see the cords in his neck straining. "Just like you've done to so many countless others."
The man beneath him laughed, strained and choked from the pressure on his neck, but a laugh nonetheless.
"You wouldn't be the first to try, and you're not going to be the first to fail."
“You know I love you, right?" She leans in, kisses his cheek as if to prove it, and smiles as she sinks to the crook of his neck. "I have every intention of fucking you like I don’t.” (( YOLOS OUT))
He rolls his hips in anticipation, face flushed, biting his lip to try and keep his noises--embarrassing, Mr. Duncan. Reduced to a moaning mess by a woman in bright red lace and ropes tied around your wrists--to a minimal.
It doesn't help when he feels Sonja grab at his hips, the slow burn making him arch against her.
He doesn't try and be quiet after that.

“I don’t think you understand just how much I hate you,” he says with a wry smile, hands tight around the woman’s neck. “I can see what you are. I can see the EVE track marks on your arms. You’re a goddamn monster, aren’t you?”
He does not snarl or snark. He is thorough and clean with his killing, ignoring the splicer’s hands digging into his arms, the choked noises forcing themselves out of her mouth.
A splicer is a splicer.

“They took her!”
Wailed to an empty apartment, the door hanging off it's hinges and the bed--the one they had shared, the one they'd loved each other in--covered in blood.
He couldn't stop yelling the same thing over and over like some broken record, skipping on its own announcement.
He stayed there for what felt like hours, sluggishly processing all the things he didn't want to see: the blood stained sheets, the walls peppered with bullet holes and splatters of crimson, the broken machinery strewn about the room, and the red tie laying by the door, torn and bedraggled.

“There are two kinds of people in this world… Those who suffer and those who cause the suffering," Andrew snarls, face a mess of bruises and split skin, "and which category do you think you're in?"
He spits on the floor between them, grimaces at the sight of the bright red splash.
"Your 'cause' has done nothing but get your followers killed, or spliced to the point of irreparable insanity. You haven't done anything to help them besides sit back and watch the corpses pile up.
You wanted to be a leader? You've been nothing but a shepherd leading his flock to death."

“I want to die.”
Whispered in the dark--whimpered really--with a watery laugh following at its tail.
"I've given so much to this cause, and I've finally run out. There's nothing left but to wait for death to claim us."
Silence follows the confession, shocked and charged. The shift of a body, the warmth of an arm thrown over Andrew's waist, the hot puff of breath against his neck.
"Tha's alright, Duncan. I'll be here, waiting with you."

Andrew never went on the dancefloor sober. His friends had a way of subtlety reminding him that he didn't dance well: "Do you have a stick up your ass, Duncan?" "You're supposed to move when you're on the dancefloor not sway awkwardly like this is some middle school prom." "Goddamn Duncan get off the floor you're embarrassing us."
When he was drunk, though, he was one of the best. He could let go and sway and rock to the music, laugh and not care if he accidentally punches one of his friends in the back during a particularly raucous song.
"Drunk Andrew? Fun as hell. Sober Andrew? Not so much."
