This piece was created for a Telegram art contest based on the original characters of the contest host, inspired by an ancient Slavic setting.

Mara is a liminal spirit — not fully among the living, not yet belonging to the dead. A witness rather than a judge.

I wanted this scene to feel quiet and heavy at the same time — as if the world is holding its breath.
