This is my fandom blog. This is just a place to chill and scroll on so no room for hate of any kind here, I just won't tolerate it. I will warn you that I won't really be tagging anything as spoilers (unless its like really new of course then I have a week long spoiler tag. exceptions are hlvrai as I wait till the final cut till I stop the spoiler tag).

hi! disclaimer again but i'm not a bug professional, this is entirely for fun! some characters are based on vibes, i'm not entirely well versed in HL/HL2 (hoping to change that!), and hl2vrai isn't finished yet. might revisit this once it's over tho!

Stain - Earwig
cockroaches are an easy pull for Stain but im not partial to it. earwigs, though, fit him much more nicely imo! earwigs prefer damp and dark spaces, which is literally staincore. i mean, they found him in a sewer. damp and dark. it's perfect.
Christopher - Ant (Bullet, Bulldog, Army)
no pics again blehh
although ants typically work together, and Christopher is sorta doing his own thing, i think ants fit him but specifically the three types I mentioned. those species are typically aggressive, which I thought fit him quite nicely because he is. definitely a very aggressive dude.
Additional Voices (Addi) - Ant (general)
no pics again sorry :( but!! i think ants in general fit Addi very well. they're very organized, hard working and excellent with teamwork. im very fond of the headcanon that Addi is like, a bunch of clones and a new one shows up when one dies, and that very much did influence the choice of ants for him.
Xar - Mantidfly
i wasn't entirely sure what bug Xar would be at first so i went looking for alien-like bugs, but every site just had like. normal ass bugs on them 😭. i found the mantidfly tho and it spoke to me in the same way the mantis did for bubby. it's not inherently a personality thing, it just kinda looks like it would speak to you like Xar would. and i love it for that
Father Grigori - Hercules Beetle and Jeweled Flower Mantis
I was tied between these two when i originally wrote this all out, but i feel like the both reflect different aspects of Grigori. one is big and tough looking and the other is gentle and delicate, and i think if he wanted to be, grigori could be both of those things!
Mouseman - Hummingbird Moth and Weevils
no weevil pics but i picked these two because they're both very cute and little sweet lil guys and i think that fits her very well! the hummingbird moth spoke to me most just bc i looked at it and immediately knew. that's the one.
Al?x - Atlas Moth
i didn't have any particular reason for picking this when i did, i think i was looking at moth species and this one specifically spoke to me.
14 and 02 are also ants. army ants. theyre just little guys.
breen hasn't gotten enough screen time yet for me to like, properly tell you what kinda bug he would be, but atm he's kinda queen ant core to me /hj hes just there to tell everyone else what to do
i'm really hoping that The Girl is an antagonist in some way but in a "you took everything away from me" way and gordon is just like "i dont even know who you are"
i had like two terrible days straight so im projecting everything onto hlvrai gordon and drew him breaking down 💚 gordon just think about the pretty ocean it will be OK..
really quick shitty comic about tommy's appearance. next time he will grab the right item and replace gordon's memories with a dude with wires coming out of him /ref
as a persistent gordon fan i show up to watch every hl2vrai stream and pray that Gordon will not be blamed for everything and won’t have sensory overload at every moment (while yes he’s still being. admittedly like. a little rude) while fully knowing it’s gonna happen again and its gonna be worse for him 🥹 he’s trying his best
I’d say it’s good to knock down his ego but any chance for him to feel good about himself has been completely eradicated so. BE KIND TO HIM ANTI-SCIENCE TEAM….. PLEASE.. IT IS REALLY FUNNY BUT HE NEEDS AN ITTY BITTY BREAK…
