i think remus feels so loved by sirius that he genuinely wants to cry sometimes. like it's this boy who grew up never knowing what love was really, except for the strong protective feeling he felt towards his brother, but with remus he is so incredibly gentle and caring. i think remus feels close to tears sometimes when sirius kisses his scars, when he brings him tea done just the right way, when he makes a fool of himself just to make remus laugh. the times that he notices sirius struggling with his past, getting frustrated with himself for being so backwards, and yet he says moony in this breathless way as if remus is the most beautiful thing to ever exist and sirius just can't help but love him. remus is one of the only people that sirius would ever slow down for, and i think remus feels a lump in his throat sometimes when sirius puts his head on his lap as remus reads, quietly dozing off. the fact that he feels safe enough to do that, that he proves how much he trusts and loves remus by falling asleep and letting him play with his hair. all these things that others would take for granted.
