Hello! Welcome to
The RatKing's Museum!
Like what you see here? Consider following my side blog for a more personal look into our lives and interests—
RatKingsJournal
This account was made to bring awareness and teach people about Dissociative Disorders!* Specifically DID!*
First, a little background about who you're hearing from!
You may call us RatKing, Rat, Ratz, (king o' rats was brought up and I absolutely LOVE THAT) or anything along those lines when referring to us generally. We generally go by it/its pronouns. We alternate between using I/Me and We/Us pronouns.
I made this account because I want to help destigmatize dissociative disorders, and possibly(hopefully!) help people who are impacted by this disorder to live happier and fuller lives.
That being said,
! ! ! DISCLAIMER ! ! !
I am NOT a professional.
Everything that I say or do on this blog is due to research and/or lived experiences.
Everyone's experience with these types of disorders is different. There is no "correct" way to experience and live with these disorders.
If what I say is based upon research, I will post sources either in the post itself, or in the comments. Otherwise, whatever I say is just my experience and should be taken with a grain of salt.
DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT I SAY BLINDLY. I AM HUMAN. I MESS UP. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.
Who are some of the people you may meet on this blog?

This is your first and final warning.
Also- Littles will not be featured on this page. Do not ask about our littles.

Dissociation is a mental process of disconnecting from one’s thoughts, feelings, memories or sense of identity. -betterhealth.vic.gov.au
What is DID?*
Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is a mental health condition where you have two or more separate personalities that control your behavior at different times. When personalities switch, you’ll have gaps in your memory. The identities are usually caused by living through trauma. -my.cleavelandclinic.org
DID was formerly known as MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder)
There is more to Dissociative Disorders* than just DID.
Not everyone who has fragmented personality states will fit into the criteria of DID, and not every person with a Dissociative Disorder will have fragmented personality states. Dissociation and the brain itself are still not fully understood.
Dissociative disorders are mental health conditions that involve experiencing a loss of connection between thoughts, memories, feelings, surroundings, behavior and identity. These conditions include escape from reality in ways that are not wanted and not healthy. This causes problems in managing everyday life. -mayoclinic.org
Something to keep in mind:
Dissociation is a spectrum. Everyone dissociates. That does not mean that you have a Dissociative Disorder. See: Structural Dissociation.
How do I tell if I have DID?
I cannot tell you that. I do not have a degree and I do not know you. I am a stranger on the internet, as are you. If you believe that something is wrong, or if you need assistance, please go to a medical professional.
I believe that DID is caused by repeated and severe childhood trauma that started before/by the age of 7-9. This can cause amnesia barriers to form. This creates the separated identities to help shield the child from the memories and keep them alive.
On that topic—
My stance on Endogenic (Endo) systems—
I am not a professional in DID, OSDD, or Dissociative Disorders. Nor do I claim to be. I do not care if endos, pro endos, or people who are neutral to endos learn something from this blog, or if I learn something from them that is backed by peer reviewed research.
However— I will not stand for these types of people claiming that endogenic systems are DID or OSDD on my page. I do not care what you do on your account. Just leave it over there. I firmly believe that dissociative disorders are caused by trauma. Dissociative disorders are horrific to live with. It is cruel to make fun of or mock/imitate these disorders, especially if you do not have them.
This does not apply to plurality that is a sort of cultural aspect. I don't know anywhere near enough about those types of plurality to sway one way or the other.
This account is ANTI endogenic. Though I do not mind if you interact if, and only if—
You are respectful.
You do not claim DID or any traumagenic terms
You understand that claiming to have DID while being endogenic is mocking the very real and horrific trauma and experiences that people with dissociative disorders have gone through and continue to go through every day.
You do not harass anyone who comments on/likes/reposts/follows my blog.
You do not harass me. Whether that be in comments here, comments somewhere else, or DMs.
You do not cross any boundaries that have been previously and/or later put onto this blog.
You do not try to convince me or anyone else who comments on my blog about the existence of endogenic DID/OSDD.
! ! I'd also like to say that one person messing up does affect the entire community. If I get harassed by pro endos, I will close this account to anyone who is (pro/neutral)endo. ! !
You are not immune to consequences on my page. I can and will post to and for myself. I am NOT afraid to block anyone. This is a safe space for people with dissociative disorders. Endogenic DID is NOT a thing. And I am very trigger happy when it comes to the block button.
We do not owe anyone anything on this site.
