Pokemon AU - Siffrin’s Journey

throws this and flees* IM FINALLY DONE !!! (Dw to glitched pokemon can be seen in this post <33 if you wanna skip my wall of yap you’re free to do so tehee <333 (unless you can already see it in which case idk ??? )

Anyway!!!! Siffrin has six pokemon- two of which come from the forgotten island. However, Siffrin can only consistently remember (and see) Pixie, because of reasons I’ll get into once I talk about that one…

But Pixie! She was, in fact, Siffrin’s starter, which might have been obvious. Like I’ve said before, Pixie doesn’t remember anything from the forgotten island. Only that, when they wake up washed up on a shore, she knows that the person laying next to her unconscious is her family. Pixie has a very friendly snd cheerful personality, but also notices how Siffrin seemed to be drifting through their travels. It had her worried, and her small form often frustrated her when she felt like she couldn’t protect him.

Mismagius was the second first pokemon he caught on his own! Siffrin befriended her when they got stuck in a cursed forest they couldn’t leave from :) Anyway, while stuck in the forest, Siffrin stumbled upon a makeshift stage where the Mismagius was performing using miscellaneous sticks, stones and old clothes left behind. I had a thought about how Siffrin had to learn a whole entire language from plays which probably meant there was a point in his life where he felt frustrated he couldn’t enjoy the plays like everyone- because everything felt foreign, yet none of the plays ever resonated with him. Maybe it was strange, but somehow they could understand a wordless play made by a strange pokemon more than any of the others at that point. Siffrin was obviously a captive audience, which is how they befriended our lovely Mismagius! I figured having a more positive ghost pokemon could also reflect Siffrin in a way- there is light in darkness, ect ect. Siffrin might not have been exactly ”happy”, but there were still times they felt joy <333

Ironically, after leaving the cursed foresy (which Siffrin landed in via drifblim) Siffrin ended up catching a drifblim which strangely decided not to follow the rest of the drifblim swarm. Also, how convenient would it have been to simply fly out of the cursed forest? Siffrin’s been taking notes okay?? Also… just drifblim’s whole thing… I talked about it in my whole ”travel” post so I wont repeat myself here but the gist of it is haha Siffrin’s depression :) and homesickness :) and the fact that their home is unreachable so they’re drifting :)

Nnnnext is the iconic Honedge!! Which Siffrin stabbed a pokemon with!!!

Siffrin found honedge in sort of a strange place. Usually, Honedge are found in old castles or battlefields due to people who become them, but Honedge was actually found left out in a dirty old cave. It’s soul, a failed knight, had lots of regrets in life. They wished to serve a noble cause, yet their cowardice always kept them from succeeding in their goal. The knight traveled from place to place, from group to group, but they became content in the stillness of searching. In the end, though, they die in an unremarkable, pathetic way- injured by a sadness, they got lost and bled out, as they were never particularly good at healing craft nor prepared for any real fight.

…anyway tldr: soul of a knight afraid of change wishes to repent by being someone’s sword, if only to be useful to someone. Siffrin doesn’t really know how to feel about this, but they sympathize with the soul of the Honedge, so they take them along, and they become friends! They have an arrangement where they can be really BAMF & kick ass with the combined power of a rouge and a sharp haunted sword, and neither of them need change! Honedge is totally high level enough to evolve, but they don’t. Why would they need to? Everything’s going so well now! It’s not like Siffrin needs TWO swords for any reason…. Nor two eyes

AAAH anyway uhhh Mimikyu!!!!! They are last caught member of the party <333 Mimikyu approached Siffrin while they were sleeping and stole their hat because their disguise was broken and they couldn’t fix it themselves. Which leads to Siffrin patchibg up Mimikyu’s disguise in return for their hat and of course, Mimikyu joins them afterwards. Also, Mimikyu’s the most eager to battle. Lastly, both Mimikyu and Siffrin crave attention & love & care. Deeply and desperately. To the point of pretending. Need I say more.

Oh yeah, you didn’t think I forgot about the glitched pokemon, did you? Sorry for holding it over your head for so long, (lowkey feel like a youtuber putting the important bit at 10 minutes.. ) but here they are!!!

Nihilego! My baby! My little monster! My little unhealthy attachment style pokemon! They are so precious to me <333

Okay so to explain: Nihilego is the other pokemon from the island. The reason Nihilego ”glitches” is because Nihilego are actually completely made from wishcraft frol the island- Unlike Pixie, whose kind still exists in other faraway parts the world, meaning Pixie’s existance isn’t ”tied” to the island in the same way. The people of the Forgotten island aren’t technically ”tied” to it either- which is why those who weren’t in the island’s ”domain” were spared. In any case, Nihilego was found and subsequently rescued by Siffrin & Pixie, which in turn led to Nihilego becoming fiercely protective in their own way.

Nihilego isn’t really ”sentient” in the way humans (nor most intellegent pokemon) are, but they can feel feelings- feelings which they can act upon childishly, which isn’t usually so bad except for the fact that they’re y’know. Full of neurotoxin.

When Siffrin left the island, their pokemon naturally followed, but The Thing happend. Afterwards, Nihilego’s existance became as fleeting as Siffrin’s memories of the island. They’re always aware of this. Not doing wonders for their mental heath. They want Siffrin’s attention- Pixie’s attention- by any means necessary.

Also, Nihilego remembers the loops. They are the only pokemon who remember the loops.

Anyway, did you know jellyfish suddenly showing up marks the death of an ecosystem? Because they thrive in waters that are completely inhabitable to most others? Just somenthing I was thinking about <3 What kind of wish makes neurotoxin jellyfish anyway???

Pokemon AU - Odile’s Journey

Odile!!! Finally got to making her <333 I think I had the hardest time deciding pokemon for for Odile? Not because I couldn’t find any that fit, but because there were just so many options….

Anyway, Odile actually has six pokemon science I figured it’s be realistic for her to have a full team! The pokemon are a little out of order in the art, mostly because the composition would have looked odd otherwise… But! Odile’s pokemon are, in order of her obtaining them:

Espeon, Serperior, Ursaluna, Sinischa, Hisuian Stantler and Liepard!

I feel like Odile has already had a ”full pokemon journey” in a way- obviously, no-one’s journey is ever fully over, but Odile started out as a pokemon professor’s assistant and continued on that path until she became a full-fledged researcher. Like in canon pokemon, there are several paths for all pokemon trainers- some choose to take on the gym challenge, some want to fill up the pokedex, some go to performing arts- everything is possible!

I didin’t mention this in my other posts, but I imagine the Defenders, for example, are similar to Pokemon Rangers, and the Elite Four would probably be a seprate organization that might very possibly also have ties to the Houses ect… anyways I got off topic!! Odile def went on the pokedex path, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have experience in battling! She just decided not to go for the gym challenge.

Espeon was Odile’s first pokemon, but it wasn’t technically her starter. Like some people guessed, Odile’s father actually got her an eevee despite it being unorthodox in Ka Bue to make her feel a little more connected with her mother’s side. Espeon has a very laid-back and lazy personality. He’s usually non-confrontational, but when his family is in danger, he defends them viciously.

Serperior is Odile’s ”real” starter. She got her as a Snivy when she became a pokemon professor’s assistant! At first, Odile resisted, science she already had a pokemon, but it’s tradition that professors send their assistants off with a starter, so she got a Snivy anyway. They ended up getting along, though, as Serperior preferred her reserved personality over some of the other bright-eyed trainers.

Ursaluna was the first pokemon Odile caught. She caught her as an Ursaring, because she wanted to resarch Ursaluna’s connection to the moon and how it worked. However, Ursaluna actually ended up actually being most helpful when Odile worked for the Underground Body Craft resistance in Ka Bue! Odile actually took learnt most of her battling skills when she took down people against the resistance- At some point, her and Ursaring became so famous that the mere sight of her could scare people off! Ursaluna and Odile have definitely settled down now, but they’re still a very frightening foe.

(I’d make a joke about being a mama bear but Odile would kill me, probably… Grandmama bear????)

Anyway next, Sinischa! Odile was accidentally gifted a haunted tea set (from a despairing romantic pursuer..) which happend to contain a Polchageist.. Ghost pokemon are hard to come by safely, so Odile was obviously interested! I imagine she’d definitely have a sort of morbid curiosity about ghost pokemon, especially about how exactly they form, but there aren’t a lot of texts available about the topic. Odile ended up being more interested in the ghost than her suitor in the end, but who’s really suprised? <333

Now, Wyrdeee was one pokemon I wasn’t sure about at first. I wanted Odile to have most of her pokemon reflect the region she was raised in, so I looked for hisuian and more japanese-inspired pokemon like serperior! I needed Odile to have a ride pokemon, and debated between Wyrdeer and Sawsbuck for a bit until I read Hisuian it’s pokedex entry again, and I realized I could definitely see Wyrdeers being perhaps illegally overhunted for their fur in Ka Bue.

In which case Odile, who has some problems with this, rescued a hisuian stantler from a hunter that kept it captive in horrible conditions. She then healed it back up with the intention of releasing it, but it ended up staying with her. It took her a long time to actually ride it, but they got there!

Odile’s Liepard sneaked into her luggage and ate a third of their rations in one sitting. They were scruffed as punishment, but Odile found it cute, so she took them in. Odile has a weakness for strays.

ANYWAY! Thank you for reading this far <333 Once again I have no names for any of these so feel free to drop name suggestions!! They’ll all be decided on the next Pokemon AU post after Siffrin’s Journey <3333

Pokemon AU - Mirabelle’s Journey

FINALLY GOT IT DONE!!!!

Holy crab I don’t know why (yes I do) but for some reason I decided to give Mira both a horse and a big dargin lizard- both of which were a nightmare to draw- But I finally got it done!!!!!

Anyway, onto Mirabelle’s Pokemon!

Mirabelle has 5 pokemon, those being (in order of obtaining):

Sylveon, Galarian Rapidash, Togetic/kiss, Haxorus and Dragonair/nite!

Sylveon was her starter, of course- she has a calm disposition, and very aware of Mirabelle’s anxiety. Sylveon’s feelers can give a tight grip that can help ground Mira’s anxiety! Also bows. Matching bows! In every iteration of Mira, there’s a bow. She is a gift <33

As for Rapidash, Mirabelle met him in the forest as a Ponyta. He was badly injured, so Mirabelle used her (very limited at the time) knowledge of healing craft to heal him! Thankfully it went well, though she realized much later how wrong it could have gone.. Regardless, her act gave her his undying loyalty, so all’s well that ends well?

(Also, according to the pokedex, Galarian ponyta’s horns have some healing power? Originally I added Galarian Rapidash to the team because of the image of Mirabelle riding on a unicorn, but the ”healer” pokemon also being a huge horse also seems fitting, somehow..)

Next, Togetic! Mirabelle recieved a Togepi egg from the Head Housemaiden as a reward for her efforts! There’s a couple reasons Togetic ended up on the team (egg pokemon, fairy-type, responsibility, ect.) but the biggest reason was because in it’s entry, it says it only appears to the purest of souls <3333

Now, Haxorus! To make it short, Mirabelle happend to be taking a stroll where it was going on a rampage, and put a stop to it. As Haxorus was impressed by Mira & her team’s strength, it followed them around challenging them to a fight over and over until she caught them. Mirabelle finds them very cool and cute.

(I just wanted to give Mirabelle a big scary dragon. You know, as a treat! I think she’d enjoy it <333)

Finally, Dragonair… When The King finally attacked the House in Dermont, the Head Housemaiden sent Mirabelle with a dratini she was training to help on her quest. Mirabelle feels undeserving of it, and later feels guilty about considering it one of her own pokemon, because it ”belongs to the Head Housemaiden”.

I figure Dragonite is still somewhat of a ”mystical” pokemon in this AU, so there are quite a few rumours of the Savior and the Dragonair ”given to her by the change god.” Poor Mirabelle’s Impostor Syndrome is NOT doing well…

Once again, no pokemon has names yet. I’ll probably decide in the post after Siffrin’s journey, but until then feel free to drop name suggestions! <33333

Pokemon AU - Isabeau’s journey

I’m writing this at 1 AM but crab it we ball- Everyone’s teams will now be shown!! (as soon as I finish these pieces) <333

I started with Isabeau science he’s the hardest for me to draw, but it ended up going well I think? Finally figured out how his hair works..

Anyway, Isabeu’s team consists of five pokemon, those being Umbreon, Arcinine, Fletchinder, Gogoat and Braixen! (Whom eventually evolve to their final forms)

What’s depicted here is basically Isabeau’s ”first meetings” with his pokemon- (exepct for umbron, which shows the moment of his evolution) each at a diffrent part of his life <3

Like his backstory in canon, Isabeau’s journey here reflects his Change- Beginning the moment he decided to take a step forward by catching Growlithe, (because I imagine like police officers in pokemon, Defenders usually have Arcinine for a partner)

The next step in his journey- and his next pokemon- is the moment he passes the defender’s exam! Every passing member gets a bird pokemon as a reward- (because defenders need to be able to scout) and Isabeau got a Fletchling! Maybe for the first time, his dream felt real <33

Next, Gogoat! Isabeau got him as skiddoo (skidoo? Skido? Idk man it’s 1AM..) when he advanced in his training <3 I just figured Gogoat would be another one of those ”standard” pokemon for defenders!

Finally, as a fully fledged defender, Isabeau finds an injured Fennekin, which becomes a Braixen before the journey to the king begins. Braixen herself doesn’t have much ”symbolism” as a pokemon (not all of these teams have all that, some of them are just Vibes + thoughts) But perhaps there can be somenthing to be said about Isabeau’s ”dumb” persona conflicting with the future Delphox’s psychic type- perhaps there’s more to him than just a funny idiot, hm?

Also none of them have names as of yet HA but if anyone has suggestions feel free! Maybe I’ll steal them (w/ credit) or maybe the universe will bless my brain spontaneously, who knows?

Haha anyway I’ve yapped enough 4 now <333 Everyone else’s journey also coming soon! Most likely in order of: Mirabelle -> Odile -> Siffrin

I like to picture Siffrin traveling alone with nothing but their pokemon and when nights get a bit extra cold they just pile with their squad, pokemon cuddlepile of warmth and comfort.

They’re all cold, but you feel warm.

Pokemon AU - Trevenant Forest (1)

Decided to do it this way, In the end! It’s not exactly page-by-page, but just enough that it won’t take too long for the next pages of act 1 to release! There will be around 6-7 parts to the beginning of this arc (in total about 18-20 pages) (I’m calling it an arc now because with the plans I have it might as well be)

I meant it to be a one-comic adventure at first, but man.. It got out of hand <3 But! This will also give me the opportunity to switch POVs in the same comic series, (Act 2 of Trevenant forest is mainly in Siffrin POV, as well as Mirabelle and Odile, probably) which is nice! Don’t really have much else to yap about than see you in the next part of Act 1! <33

Pokemon AU - Interrogations

I think Siffrin should have a fox in their pocket at all times. You know, as therapy! (At least as long as she fits in there..) Anyway, meet Siffrin’s Vulpix! They came from the island with him. Like Siffrin, she unfortunately doesn’t remember their homeland either, but she’s a sociable creature nonetheless! (much to Siffrin’s benefit..)

Also, science ISAT characters canonically can’t see colours, I imagine it would be harder to spot that Pixie is a lot diffrent from other vulpix- most people would probably just think it’s a strange shade, but not that diffrent.. but obviously, it becomes clear that they aren’t when they start using ice-type moves!
