Prepare yourself. EDC IS COMING!
Check out "Electric Daisy Carnival Experience" on Netflix if you are unfamiliar with this event.

Neon Indian is this shit. They lean away from dubstep but the music is totally enveloping!
Cigarettes are magical!
It's a filthy habit but lets face it, addiction is cool! This post is for all those non-smoking ravers. Now I understand that cigs are YUCKY but keep an open mind before you scroll down. (Or even worse leave to another blog!) In my experience it doesn't matter what you are on, a cigarette will enhance the experience. That's why they are magical. Nicotine is a stimulant and when you combine two or more stimulants it boosts your high to the moon! So next time you plan on raving buy a pack (You can chain smoke like crazy when you roll, trip, etc.) Or just bum one off a stranger. I guarantee they will be more than obligated to help, especially if you explain the situation. Still don't believe me? Test it yourself at home. Have a few beers, maybe a shot or two and get some tobacco in your system. I suggest hookah if you don't want an addiction anytime soon. Trust me you will go numb and it will feel fantastic :D

DIFFERENT PEOPLE = DIFFERENT RAVE STYLES
After years of raving and countless shows I’ve noticed that prolonged exposure to raving leads people to begin their own unique style and form of self-expression. You may notice it yourself as you and your posse being in attend more concerts and shows. We choose our own direction within a culture that fits who we are.

This is a really great quiz to see where you fit in!
1) Glove guy-
You enjoy showing off your impressive ever increasing glove skills. Blowing minds in a 2 minute period is all in a days work for you. These people have a blast entrancing people for free. One of the corner stones of the rave community. S/o Isaac Gabrielle
2) Drug dealer-
Everyone’s favorite person. Supplying drugs is a necessity. These peeps get a kick out of helping those who don’t have outside drug connections, and making an easy buck or too. We admire their bravery for sneaking in an unknown capacity of illegal perihelia. They hold the enhanced experience of so many, literally in the palm of their hand. Be careful. With great power comes great responsibility. Thanks to the dealers who don’t overcharge, or peddle bad/fake drugs.
3) Shuffler/Dancer
The category I fall in. Like glovers’ shufflers enhance the experience by giving people something fun to watch. We are the protectors of another corner stone of rave society. Ravings own specialty dance. Don’t be afraid to open a circle on the dance floor to show off your newest moves. On most occasions someone will gladly jump in to do the same. It’s up to the select few to be brave enough to forge the circle as Daniel Boone forged trails. (For viewers, cheer loud whether its a good show or not. It takes a lot of balls for most of us!)
4) Grinder-
This guy/gal has in most cases one objective. Find the best piece of ass and get on it! ;P You can tell who this is because they carefully evaluate every member of the opposite sex (Or same sex). A fun game for grinders to play is with your friends find someone that is incredibly attractive and whoever gets to dance with them first wins. Set high expectations.
5) Conversationalist-
Usually while riding a good roll, the conversationalist loves to make friends. “Oh I like your shirt! My names Jimmy!” Turns head to other side. “Hey I see have hair on your head just like me! Lets be best friends!” Everyone loves the conversationalist. Even if the conversation sucks, or is totally random. We have a good time knowing you’re having a good time!
6) Booty call-
Always leaving the club with someone in your arms? Phone numbers? Chances are you’re the booty call of the group. You enjoy strutting your swag. You probably have a condom in your pocket and a house/hotel near by. Ignore the hate because we are all secretly jealous of the booty call. Remember that girls that have sex on molly are more prone to be less exited by sober sex, so hump responsibly my friends.
7)Too many drugs guy/gal
Also known as that guy. Or refereed to as “remember that really fucked up person?” This person is is having a little to much fun. Stepping on feet, carelessly bumping into strangers and all around general ignorance for those around. If you fall in this category you needs to find a responsible friend as listed below. Chances are you wont remember much of the show and spent way to much on drugs, so whats the point? Please be careful not to OD. If you do mass drug intake, please know your limits. We all thank you.
8) Responsible raver-
I have a ton of respect for the responsible ravers out there. Designated driver, and all around good friend. There to hold your hair when you’re sick, make sure everyone’s hydrated so they can rave on. Most importantly on the look out in case of a potential OD. You enjoy the scene but feel more comfortable having your wits about you! Every raver needs a friend like you, so grab a red bull and drink up!
9) Kandi kid-
If you spend countless hours crafing kandi and preping your wardrobe for the next show chances are you are a kandi kid. For some reason the general public frowns on the image. Its because your different, but fuck the general public, they don’t understand. Like hippies, you are the figure head toour revolution! So turn a blind eye and soldier on!
If I missed anyone I’m sorry. Feel free to leave a comment and define yourself. Demand to make your voice heard!
Also post your results!!!

Evolution of Kandi.
Be original, like crazy kandi glove guy!
Quotes from Emily Dickinson, Ken Kesey and Eatsleepraverepeat. Can you match the quote to the name?
"Find ecstasy in life, the mere sense of living is joy enough."
"Mind altering drugs permit us to break through a plateau of happiness and pleasure, further expanding our capacity for love."
"People don’t want other people to get high, because if you get high, you might see the falsity of the fabric of society we live in."
Rock the fanny pack!
How to trade kandi.
She also brings up a good point. Different people do it differently so use these examples as a base and be flexible! :)
THE SIGNIFGANCE OF KANDI AND PLUR
Peace Love Unity Respect. Oh and most likely drugs. This is the universal rave motto. Most likely you have heard this if you have been to a rave. The message is simple. Whether you except it or not is totally up to you. I have in-countered many fellow ravers who choose not to indulged in this aspect. However it is a corner stone of the culture, therefore important to understand. The best example I can use to form a better image, is the exchange of kandi. Kandi being beaded bracelets made of pony beads. The iconic mark of a raver. Those who wear them (Especially to a high degree) are more specifically called a Kandi kidds. Similar to calling a hippy a flower child. Kandi will tell you a lot about an individual particularly their style, and it provides a glimpse at someone’s personality. A sort of expectable way to judge a stranger. Now the example I was talking about combines both kandi and PLUR. During my early entry of the rave scene I would simply take a bracelet off and hand it to a pretty girl. It wasn’t until later I discovered there is a special ritual for this exchange. A simple process based on PLUR.
To properly give and recive kandi both you and the recipient must mimic one another’s hand gestures. Starting with the first letter of PLUR. 1)Peace. Represented as a peace sign, you will both touch the tips of your fingers together. Now while never breaking contact with their finger tips move to the next letter. 2) Love. As you could imagine, the next shape you will make together is a heart. Each person providing half the heart with their hand. 3)Unity. Interlock your hands together. Each finger fitting in the space between your partners fingers. From here there are to two options I’ve observed. An exchange of bracelets could represent 4) Respect. (What I like to do) At which you are finished. 4.5) Or the second option is to continue by moving your hands to hold in a clasp, to represent Respect. Then an exchange may take place. In some cases it may take place as a one way trade. In this situation I would suggest continuing with to step 4.5 to establish the idea that there is mutual respect.
The idea of PLUR is beautiful. The trading of kandi, is a significant exchange that provides a feeling and idea that you are friends with this significant other. If for no other reason guys, its a good way to break the ice. Especially if you’re shy. So go ahead and ask them to dance while you’re at it :) Same goes for all the girls out there.
Please note that I have no objection to homosexuality, and it is a more commonly excepted idea in our rave scene.

Marijuana.
Probably your best bet if you play it safe(; Also mixing weed with alcohol is a very satisfying high for the club scene. Adding both euphoria and sexual drive.
