the concept of psychosis as an everyday experience is very foreign to most people
for the average apsychotic (not psychotic) person psychosis would be a brand new experience. psychosis for an apsychotic person can be very concerning.
they have a hard time seeing that for some people psychosis is not new or out of the ordinary. psychosis is their constant life experience that rarely (or never) quits. whether that experience is severely disabling or just a background quirk of life countless people experience psychosis that is not an acute emergency.
the minute someone is noticeably psychotic people's social skills fly out the window because they don't see psychotic people as people
"what do I do if I shouldn't call 911?"
well "I'm sorry I'm in a rush" is a pretty good option or "I can't talk right now, sorry" and then move on.
psychotic people, ultimately, are people. they are just as human as you are and the vast vast vast majority of the time they're not interested in hurting you.
when you're approached by a psychotic person ranting about delusions or hallucinations (and possibly speaking with disorganized speech) they are just looking for human connection, that's all. they might not have many people around to talk to and it gets lonely. when someone talks to you about a secret society of mind readers out to kill them they are just trying to connect with people and sometimes process the fear they're experiencing (because a secret society of mind readers out to kill you is rather scary!)
things like mania can also make you very talkative and very social.
someone coming up to you to talk about being the second coming of Jesus isn't trying to hurt you. they just want to talk. if you have time then have a conversation, most of the time you don't even need to say much. you can politely nod and go "wow that's crazy" and "that's so scary" and it might be one of the kindest things someone does for them that day. if you don't have time just say you're in a rush and leave.
it's that simple
Schizospec(?) culture is "am I really feeling this thing or is it just my brain being silly again?"

It Doesn't Take Much to Prove Your Delusions are True Beyond Any and All Reasonable Doubt
"Proof". It should be held to a high standard. Particularly when it comes to concluding that a powerful organization is pursuing you. Unfortunately, the psychotic mind makes extraordinary claims with evidence that barely qualifies as ordinary. Here is a short list of proofs compiled by myself and fellow schizos that we were the target of near constant surveillance.
1.Water would run through water pipes. 2.Babies would cry 3.Children would laugh and play. 4.Men would whisper things within ear shot 5.Women would giggle 6.Thunder would rumble 7.Taxis would have ads on the roof 8.A larger truck would pull in front of me 9.Men would be dressed up in suits 10.Bus drivers would ignore me 11.Cars would honk/their alarms would sound 12.It would smell good/bad for no reason 13.Wind chimes would make noise 14.People would play loud music 15.It would rain
I could fill a whole page with this stuff, but you get the idea. This was nothing. occurrences that just happen every day. To schizos, they were signals that, not only had special information, but demonstrated beyond any doubt that we were not delusional at all. All of the reason in the world to not comply with treatment. There was truth to discover.
I'm still not over the Joker wearing a dress. P.S. I'm going to keep posting this kind of stuff here — we'll see how it goes.
I’ve wanted to draw the Joker in a dress ever since I saw this excerpt from the script for ‘Arkham Asylum’ by Grant Morrison:
"Pale and emaciated, he should look simply grotesque, but standing there, hand on out-thrust hip, he projects an absolute confidence that confers upon him a bizarre kind of attractiveness and sexuality". Edited: I added boobs.
Could you draw John Constantine with top scars or do you have a different trans hc for him?
ARE YOU IN MY BRAIN!! you guys have no idea how much i love trans john. he's so trans to me. i adore transtantine so so much. forever and always <3
more comic characters should haunt their writers like how everyone who’s written John Constantine keeps meeting him in dark alleys

I feel like daytime drowsiness isn’t talked about a lot when it comes to schizophrenia. It honestly sucks, cause I can’t function without either excessive amounts of caffeine (bad for me) or long naps during the day (not adult behavior seriously why?).
When you take into consideration that it often comes with insomnia - either due to paranoia, delusions, or just plain old insomnia. And antipsychotics have a sedating effect.
