HE HAS NO LOVE FOR FILM AND JUDGING BY WHAT HE HAS GOOGLED HE THINKS THAT ALL MOVIES ARE PUZZLES THAT HE HAS TO SOLVE LIKE THIS IS LOST OR SOME SHIT. the thing about rewatching twin peaks is that the first season is so perfect and it really flies by and before you know it you’re at the last few good episodes of season 2 and you have to decide if you’re gonna follow the mythos plot at least or just skip right to the s2 finale and fire walk with me, tshotp, s3, tfd etc

and a key emotional component of the s2 finale is how it arrives after wading through the absolute dredges of some of the worst declines in writing, theme, and characterization that you’ll ever experience

the moment the episode starts you are unmistakably back in Lynch’s hands and everything that was grating and horrible is good again. you feel soothed by the deliberate slowness. like a parent soothing away a bad dream Lynch just ends every plotline you’ve been being tormented by. then you go to the torment nexus and Cooper is trapped there forever.
