Seth says I’m being too nice and that the internet is the place to throw insults at each other, but Kendra says I’m doing just fine and I’m so confused.

Raxtus Defense Post! He’s not a traitor!

At least that’s what I think. Here’s why.

In Fablehaven Book 4, Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary, Raxtus helps Kendra out and gets her off that cliff and flies her over to the fairy queen’s shrine. At the shrine, Kendra gains the ability to communicate with the Astrids. After she leaves, she was communicating with the astrids and asking them where the dragon temple is. The dragon temple that any dragon on the face of the planet would do anything to keep people away from. Because of the communication with the astrids, Raxtus finds out Kendra’s plan to go in.

Kendra is all alone. She thinks she’s the only member of the team left to finish the mission. Raxtus could easily kill her. Not stopping her makes Raxtus practically committing treason against all dragonkind. But what does he do? He flies her closer to her goal. All this is before book 5, where Kendra and Raxtus bond even more. 

Raxtus was willing to commit dragon treason to help Kendra. Why would he do anything to hurt them? (at least intentionally)

If Raxtus is a traitor, It wouldn’t be anything like Vanessa or Navarog. If Raxtus is a traitor, he is being forced by Celebrant or something else just as worse. It’s not malicious.

Raxtus

1. He listens to pop music often.

2. When flying someone somewhere he decides to be the radio and sings for them.

3. He and Bracken are like best bros and give each other advice on women.

4. He sometimes plays football with the family.

5. He once became invisible and followed Kendra around school.

6. He is being taught by Newel and Doren about how awesome the human world is.

7. He helps Tanu with potions.

8. He enjoys swimming.

9. He is always stopping in at Fablehaven, even if he does have “important” work to do.

10. He insists on going on every adventure because you never know when you will need a fairy dragon.

Raxtus discovers human stuff.

Raxtus quickly became obsessed with human stuff. He will sometimes watch television with Newel, Doren, Hugo, Mendigo, and Seth. His favorite is Dancing With the Stars, which he is utterly fascinated by. He will change to his dreaded avatar just to use Kendra’s phone to vote on his favorite contestant. He voted for Bindi Irwin 51 times. He’ll beg Kendra to watch with him and she’ll agree because she likes Dancing With the Stars and she loves Raxtus. Newel and Doren get annoyed, because they would rather be watching wrestling, but they usually get interested and end up watching with them. One day, he discovered iTunes on Kendra’s phone and quickly fell in love with Taylor Swifts 1989. He has every song on track memorized. His favorite songs are Out of the Woods and Clean.
