How to Use a Fire Starter
The fire was discovered by the humans around late Silurian period which was 450 million years ago, however before the humans discovered fire, it was discovered by the wildlife around early Carboniferous period.
Since then fire has become a significant force of earth.
Now the question is how did they make a fire during that time? As we already know they did not have any lighters or matches to make it easy.
How to Use a Fire Starter
Three essential components are needed to light a fire:
1. fuel - to burn
2. oxygen – combustion is essential
3. heat – to light the fire
Now that we know the main things which are needed let get to ‘HOW TO’ part.
RIGHT LOCATION FOR FIRE:
First of all, you need to make sure that the place you have chosen does not have any wind blow as it will be the first source to stop it, to begin with.
The location you have chosen must be dry, as you must already know that you cannot light a fire on a wet place or ground. Said Alex Raynold of Safariors.com website.
Choose a place where there is a supply of wood and far away from grass as it may grab it as a source to spread.
As the fire starts it will be hungry for more wood if not then it will die.
PREPARE THE FIRE SITE:
After choosing your desired location dug a hole so that it can beat down the fire from spreading.
Sometimes it is hard to choose a place without wind, thus make a windbreak. You can use a wet to keep the wind away. However, do make sure that there is a proper amount of distance between your wet log and fire so that the wet log does not catch the fire.
GATHER NECESSARY MATERIALS:
Before starting the fire make sure you have all your material with you so that you do not have to make a run later on.
1 would- make sure it cut into pieces as you would not be able to light it on the big woods.
2 few leaves to encourage the fire to get started.
SCRAPE THE MAGNESIUM BAR:
The magnesium bar is an outstanding surviving tool for the campers. In campfire building techniques it is a very effective tool to have. As it is a great frameable source in the temperature of over 2760-degree Celsius.
Start scraping it from the edge and make sure it is far away from your face, as you do not want to put yourself into any danger.
Start with small, after it starts to spark, scrape more on the leaves that you have gathered.
STRIKE THE FLINT:
If you must know, magnesium bars have flit on the edge of the bar. Start to strike on it to cause the spark.
Do not stab your knife on the flint make sure you bore on it or rather bore the flint on the knife.
The amount of pressure applied will determine the quantity of the fire, so make sure you put a correct amount of pressure on it.
ENCOURAGE THE FLAME:
When you have successfully put on the fire, start put few thin sticks on it before putting the small brunches. This will help your fire to get strong, and do not forget to blow on it, as you start to blow lightly on the fire while putting the sticks this will encourage the flame to spread properly.
MAINTAIN THE FIRE:
It is hard to maintain the fire, if start potting all the brunches altogether it may put all your hard into the water, as putting the branches before it has properly ignited it will stop the fire, as all the branches will be stopping it from spreading among itself.
Also, make sure that the hole you have logged is big enough to hold the fire on the specific space.
EXTINGUISH THE FIRE BEFORE YOU LEAVE:
After you have had your fun or the things you needed to be done through fire, make sure you have put out the fire and turned it into ashes.
It is a very useful thing but can also be turned into a very dangerous thing. So do not leave the place until it has turned into ashes.
