Today (22 years ago) for MCR…
8th June, 2004 - My Chemical Romance performed at Vintage Vinyl Records in Fords, NJ for the record release of their third album ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.’ It was also the first stop for the albums tour.
Along with playing the show, they had a signing, showing in pictures 18-20.
The first video clip is of the full show, and the second is an audio recording of the soundcheck and the full show.
📸 1-20 from Vintage Vinyl on WebArchive - 1-17 were in show and 18-20 were at the signing.

when you get rid of CDs you’re also loosing the entire art of album design and CD packaging as well as lyric booklets and the design of the CD itself. and all of those things factor into how you experience the album. looking up lyrics on genius is nowhere near as impactful as looking at the loving design that goes into lyric booklets, the images chosen to accompany certain songs, the typography and text design, even sometimes the artists comments in there as well. while playing individual songs and making playlists or shuffle playing an artists discography is fine it seems like a lot of people have forgotten what its like to listen and appreciate an album. and when “listening to an album” means clicking play on a list of songs with a tiny little album cover on spotify of course its going to be a different experience than getting the actual CD or vinyl or casette and seeing all the love and care that goes into that physical media. ok?
