Truth be, I want to be uncomfortably close

Sure, my telltale vision of a sunny café and a fresh start is the docile one

a soft humming in my chest and i'm already home we are racing towards inevitability but i promise i'll shape this love into stories and the vibrant lavender of your heart it's a human reaction in the quiet beats between peristalsis and watching the pearlfish weave through gentle rivulets of song you know, they're winning everything under the sun and i said love was a sort of hunger but labelling it desire doesn't encapsulate swallowing oven-warm laughter back between littered cough medicine and wrinkled wings (you're love and you're life and i think you always have been)

and as we're looking at the same stars all i can think is you're alive and i'm so grateful we're here together

it's the first poem i tagged you in yes!!

i'm doing pretty good!! done w school in a week which is wonderful but also a bit sad; however i have a two week internship at the feminist association in my town after that so im a bit scared but excited!!

yeah i learned today that pearlfish hide inside clams to hide from predators but sometimes they can get trapped inside and turn into a pearl and my poet's brain was just like.... oh i have got to use this in a poem somewhere

junior year creeps up on me as the

breeze cuts through my classroom window

i don't know if this is all i ever want to be.

my pen goes down and

my head hangs low;;;

there's a

boring eyes and holes and scars in skin

i won't look at it

maybe then you'll look at me and see it all

i think i'm just scared of the mirror,

i think you pushed me to build and then stayed to see me break.

or maybe those are my lips making that noise;

you haven't been talking for a while

i've just been putting words in your mouth

the window's open, cold, still, always and unrelenting, sure

but i am still love

i like this class,

had a pretty good lunch.

and maybe the sun will come out this summer

i'll go to our store and not wait for you//

(on the bike trail, next to your aunt's house.)

//maybe to do some back to school shopping

get back 2 myself

realise how beautiful it all has been
