*my* komagami portrayal (emphasizing that it’s mine as if there’s a major group of dedicated komagami shippers with their own set portrayal… there’s like, 8 of us.)

Just to get this out of the way, this whole portrayal revolves entirely around some sort of ‘stalker x stalker’ scenario. Now, Byakuya isn’t *intending* to be being a stalker by any means, in fact he sees that behavior as horrifyingly desperate and utterly below him. “I’d never allow myself to stoop so low, such behavior is repulsive and frankly unbecoming for someone such as myself.” (…does he know…?) But even despite that, he finds himself subconsciously keeping track of the things Nagito does throughout the day, what he’s interested in, the people he talks to, etc etc. He’s completely fascinated by Nagito to a borderline obsessive degree because Nagito and his obscure demeanor has lead Byakuya to feel something that he’s not at all used to feeling for others (love ♡ if that’s not obvious enough.) and he’s extremely intrigued by this abnormality, not to mention repulsed by it simultaneously. He’s actively ashamed of the fact that he’s catching himself keeping such a close eye on Nagito, he hates how he can’t help but long for Nagitos attention. His personal resolve and composure is decomposing slowly but surely because of all of this. The weight of his desire to be perceived in a certain way in which he maintains the standards he has set for himself, the standards that he is failing to meet all because he’s become so terribly fixated on Nagito.

Nagito, however, wants to grow closer with Byakuya in an attempt to form a bond with him and in turn, get closer to Makoto, due to Makoto and Byakuya being fairly close, not even as friends or anything, just in general those two are close together most of the time. (even in ff and stuff) anyways, Nagito would talk to Makoto directly but I feel like he wouldn’t feel worthy of forming a friendship with THE ultimate hope directly. Getting closer with other ultimates first, especially one so close to Makoto, would definitely be better! That’s Nagitos line of logic anyways. Kyokos obviously too intuitive to fall for that, Aoi would get the creeps from Nagito (even if she TRIES to be nice…she’d always have her guard up), Toko wouldn’t give him the time of day, Yasuhiro is a bit…too slow to be of any real value for something so crucial to Nagito, so Byakuya is just the obvious option for Nagito to bond with. Byakuya is close with Makoto, like I’ve been saying, and he’s smart, but not emotionally. He obviously isn’t the type to read into people’s emotions or the psychological aspect of most things in general, therefore he likely wouldn’t read far enough into Nagitos behavior to realize Nagitos intentions. By the way, I want to make it clear that Nagito IS technically using/attempting to use Byakuya, but that dosent mean he DOESN’T deeply respect and admire him despite that, Nagito admires all ultimates and Byakuya is no exception, I mean that’s partially why Nagito chose him after all. But if Makoto is an option then Nagito is always picking him over Byakuya without fail. Byakuya would probably eventually notice this pattern and I imagine that is a genuinely painful blow to his pride. He doesn’t get why…he shouldn’t feel so attached and yet he just can’t help it, he feels a rancid sense of envy towards Makoto building within him—he’s obviously miles better in every regard right? Why is it that despite all his efforts to understand the depths of Nagitos mind, they all seem to go in vain the moment Makoto comes into the picture? I don’t think Byakuya would ever fully catch onto the fact that Nagito is stalking him as well, and that’s only because Nagito, unlike Toko, is far more discrete when stalking Byakuya. Byakuya dosent notice anything too out of the ordinary for Nagito. Byakuya isn’t dense of course, so he knows Nagito isn’t exactly the most trustworthy person, he’s kind of completely erratic despite how he presents himself. However, due to him already viewing Nagito as a nut case, this causes him to disregard most odd behavior he notices from Nagito as him simply being his usual self. Byakuya is obviously not the type to actively seek out friendship from someone, but at the same time he can’t help but start to feel swayed by Nagitos consistent attempts at befriending him due to Byakuyas own personal fascination with the other. Nagitos behavior actually leads Byakuyas obsession with Nagito to get *even worse,* it causes him a whirlwind of intense internal conflicts. Also like I said earlier, Byakuyas keeping track and following Nagito completely subconsciously majority of the time, so the way he’s going about it isn’t exactly calculated and he dosent have any clear idea on what it is he’s specifically looking for or how to do it, he just wants to learn MORE about this guy. Nagito is the complete opposite of that, he knows what he’s looking for and he knows just how to go about it. This may or may not result in Nagito spotting the abnormal behavior from Byakuyas whenever he specifically is around him… if Nagito were to realize Byakuya had grown infatuated by him and was borderline stalking him then Nagito would heavily lean into it and would start to be even more persistent with trying to suck up to Byakuya and getting closer with him and use him.

Some details may vary depending on the timeline and all that, but overall this is pretty much how I see it in a general sense. — In summary, they’re both stalking each other for their own selfish interests, just one of them happens to be far better at it than the other…how cute.

Introducing “For Daichi!” a Devil Survivor 2 Fangame!

We have been working on this game for about a year now, and while it’s still not finished, I’d like to publicly announce “For Daichi!” by posting the opening! 

It’s a (Hibichi) fangame where you get to spend a whole school day with Daichi Shijima, aka, the best character in the entire Devil Survivor Franchise. Actually, it’s a game where you shamelessly get to either date Daichi Shijima or slam him to the ground. Hate him? Love him? You’ll get to do both. The fangame God remembers though, so make sure you don’t do something you can’t come back from. There’s also different levels of romance and intimacy options, exclusive routes, unlockable extra content depending on your path, and more. Currently, there’s over 10 different endings coded. Bad ends, good ends, a true end, worst end, and a bunch of joke endings!

We’ll hopefully select a few people to beta the game for glitches/errors and in general help us improve the experience!

As for the title of the fangame, it comes from the truck scene in the Desu2 (game) where Hibiki yells out “For Daichi!” and does battle. Hobbitous named the project jokingly, and I said “If you think that’s just a placeholder, you’re dead wrong.” thus, the game was named.

I wonder what led me to this point, yknow? Drawing Makoto Naegi from the hit game “Danganronpa” as Hatsune Miku from a song called “Confessions of a Rotten Girl” where the plot is that Miku is a catholic girl obsessed with yaoi, trying to stop, yet continues to relapse.

I didn’t animate it like I said I wanted to in my last post, cause I didn’t want to. Although even if I DID wanna I’m currently in a predicament that prevents me from doing so, but that’s besides the point.

I think the great thing about TWEWY as a series is that like any well-written teenage bildungsroman, it’s able to look past the bullshit teenagers project about themselves/others and call them out on it while at the same time, being completely understanding towards them. Teenagers in games tend to be incredibly annoying and difficult to withstand for a lot of players out there since teenagers, like you and me probably were/are at some point, are often incredibly annoying, hormonal balls of angst. TWEWY never lets these traits hang, and is always extremely critical of the characters, rather than just implying that they suck, and makes the characters come across as kids going through that awkward phase in their lives.

The other half is that the games are also aware that these characters are human, and these traits don’t just pop up out of nowhere. Neku is dealing with survivor guilt concerning the death of his best friend and feels overwhelmed by the world. Shiki is completely lost in who she wants to be and what to do, hence her imposter syndrome and self-esteem issues. Beat is terrified that his tough guy attitude will hurt the people he cares about but doesn’t know any other way to be, which he hates himself for.

Rindo is deathly afraid of taking responsibility for potentially life-changing decisions and tries to avoid it by clinging onto others for guidance so that if things do go wrong, he has a scapegoat to conveniently pass his responsibilities onto, hence why he lashes out whenever people try to force those choices onto him. Fret has PTSD over his best friend’s suicide and is trying to hide his true feelings out of fear of getting hurt again, hence his overly enthusiastic behavior and seemingly carefree attitude. Nagi is a hyperempath who struggles with trying to find an appropriate channel through which to express her feelings and suffers from social AND performance anxiety. And then there’s everything about Shoka.

When these characters act obnoxious, weird, etc, there’s always a reason, always an understandable way to trace these behaviors. It wants the characters (and by extension, you) to grow past their flaws and allows them to be flawed but nonetheless likable/interesting characters, which I think is really important for the demographic these games are mainly catered towards.
